Community Highlights: Meet Tucker Watson of Best Option Restoration Southwest Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tucker Watson.

Hi Tucker, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Franklin. Spent the first few years out of college doing ministry and non-profit work. Discovered I really love helping people and mentoring young men. My wife and I started doing foster care and ended up having a child stay longer term so wanted to be around a lot more and so I took a job in sales to have a more set work schedule. Did that for a few years and decided I wanted to do something on my own. My years in the non-profit space really pressed upon me that every young man from every background is looking for work that he can feel proud of and dignified by and I wanted to start a company that set out to empower young people to find meaningful work they can be proud of doing. I want to care for my employees in a way that they become better spouses, parents, neighbors, etc thru their time working with me.

Additionally, the restoration industry has suffered from stereotypes of contractors ripping clients off and so I wanted to bring transparency and 100% integrity into our operation and we pride ourselves on not cutting corners and doing the right thing 100% of the time. If we make a mistake, we’re going to own up to it and make it right. This business is as much about Emotional Intelligence as it is Technical Skill. We assume every time the phone rings, the person on the other end of that call wishes they didn’t have to call us at that moment. So we take great care to treat every prospect and client with great empathy and patience in the same way we’d want a contractor to treat one of our elderly grandparents!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We’ve enjoyed a wave of success in the first year, but I’ve noticed many more gray hairs in my head as a result of getting the business going over the first year! The largest struggle we face is the pre-conceived notions of referral partners (insurance agents, property managers, plumbers) and prospects who’ve either been burned personally or heard horror stories about other restoration companies. It’s a steep hill to climb to earn trust but we believe deeply in the value we bring. Most people haven’t ever dealt with a water or fire damage event or giant mold problem at their home, so when we first arrive on scene the emotions are normally pretty high and charged. It’s always amazing to see the relief and peace on our customer’s faces by the time we wrap up our projects with them.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Best Option Restoration Southwest Nashville we do emergency water and fire damage restoration, mold remediation, and crawlspace encapsulations. But really what we provide is peace of mind to stressed out homeowners or business owners. We know the people that call us for our services wish they could go back in time and not have to deal with whatever large problem they’re calling us about, but we’re there to help them get their situation back to or even better than it was before in a very timely manner and with excellent craftsmanship.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We work really well as a partner for plumbing companies, property managers, and insurance agents that really take a hands-on approach to their clients.

The best time for people to call us is immediately after discovering a water leak in their home or commercial space. It’s important to act quickly and promptly when water damage is discovered as mold can start growing within 48 hours and can cause not only health problems but can turn into a much costly repair project.
