Conversations with Aiyanna Parker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aiyanna Parker.

Hi Aiyanna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born into a military family, so I never necessarily had a home.

From the day I was born I have been on the go and have lived in many states along the way. Each place I would move, I would make a few friends only to up and move again. This was especially difficult for me when I was younger, as I had no way of staying in contact with the people I came across. I never really had a sense of familiarity, that is until I picked up my first camera my freshman year of high school.

By taking photos I could freeze the best moments in my life as well as capture images of the people I loved the most. I knew no matter where the military stationed my mother that I could take the memories with me. Initially, I was only taking photos of my close friends and family until one day I realized that I could create these special moments for others as well.

Now that I’ve graduated high school two years ago and my mother’s career no longer dictates where I go, I have finally decided to settle here in Nashville, Tennessee, and share my talent with the people around me. I am now married and have a child of my own and this career allows me to maintain flexibility whilst being there for my family.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My biggest struggle when it comes to photography would definitely be maintaining a clientele.

With my mother being in the military we were constantly moving to different states. By the time I would build up my client list, it would be time for us to move yet again. This being the case, it was nearly impossible for me to stay consistent in my bookings which took a toll on me mentally.

Things that attracted clients in one state didn’t always work in another. I have to constantly adapt to my surroundings and learn about the people around me to get back on track. By the time I could become consistent again, it would be time for us to move… again.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a photographer currently specializing in outdoor photoshoots. I am known for my vibrant editing style and attention to detail. I am most proud of my ability to overcome my constantly changing environment and stay motivated to keep pursuing my career.

What sets me apart from other photographers is my ability to change up my editing style. I base each and every photo based on my client’s individual needs because what works for one client may not work for another. I do this by switching up my editing styles and making sure I get the best angles.

Therefore, I alter whatever is necessary to ensure I provide the best photos for my customer’s own satisfaction.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
You can support me by simply booking your next photoshoot with me, reposting my page, or referring me to a friend!
