Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Pallant.
Hi Alyssa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! My name is Alyssa & I’m so glad you’re interested in learning alittle about me. My passion for modeling started back in 2014 when I was just 17 or 18 years old. I was working at Dunkin Donuts and had been going through some self-confidence issues as any young adult would. I made some great friends working there, one who introduced me to a friend of there’s who turned out to be a photographer. At first, he was just someone who came in and got coffee daily. I even had his order memorized.
He and I slowly became friends and he was always asking to take photos of me. I was hesitant for quite some time until I finally caved and fell in love with a passion for creating content. After that, I started modeling at some larger car shows which although I loved due to my passion for the automotive world, I soon realized my passion more so was in content creating for brands via social media showcasing all my favorite outfits and styles. I found western wear and edgy are my go to looks!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It absolutely has not been a smooth road. There were times when I was so driven in my modeling that my friendships and relationships suffered.
For a while, I even put it on the back burner. Once I moved to Nashville in 2021, I started to remind myself of my passion and have been slowly trying to get more involved with local companies and focusing on more western fashion and content creating for fun!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I try to keep my day job more private, but I’ve continued to freelance models throughout the years.
I’m very proud of how far I’ve come with my modeling and how much I’ve grown. I think what sets me apart is my true passion for it. I know it’s more than just a click of a button, but takes a lot of time, effort & drive.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
This has always been a bit of a struggle for me. In the networking world, I’ve always focused on finding similar creators for inspiration, but remind myself that being unique is what will get my the furthest. I don’t focus on the “likes” as much as I focus on the higher-quality content I create.
I know these things take time and years of consistency, so my biggest piece of advice is not to give up when you don’t see fast results. Ps tagging all brands in postings is a huge plus to help in growing!
