Today, we’d like to introduce you to Ari.
Ari, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As a Rubber City Native, I grew up in Northeast Ohio and moved to Nashville in 2019 to pursue music. I’ve always been fascinated with Rock and Roll and knew it was something I’d create myself. I came to Nashville with barely any knowledge of anyone and worked as a waitress in Franklin.
I spent my off days writing songs and going to open mic nights in Leipers Fork, making new friendships and connections with anyone who would talk to me. Eventually, I made my way to consistent live performances through Broadway in 2021 to the present day, which has helped me establish my own band, my own sound, and the true vision I have for my career.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road itself was long and winding but incredible. I’ve been kicked out of a band, but I’ve also quit a band, which, at the end of the day, has led me to be my leader and my boss.
As a female singer in a male-dominated industry – most of us find ourselves struggling to break through as we often are overlooked and undervalued for our work/time. However, I’m hopeful that standards will change soon.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a singer, songwriter, and performer. I’d like to think I’m known for my gritty vocal fry and witty stage banter – but I’m probably more known as that short blonde rocker chick that can sing any 70-80s song, if anything.
I believe my passion and depth for rock music go beyond the norm, which would ultimately set me apart from a regular music fan. Music is the first thing I think of when I wake up and the last thing I think of when I go to sleep.
What’s next?
I’m planning on releasing my debut EP soon!
I’m also working on playing more out-of-town shows and showcasing my original music as I step away from the cover shows more and more. Broadway has definitely helped me spread my wings, but I feel my time with it is ticking – which is beautiful.
