Conversations with Ashley Brooks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Brooks.

Hi Ashley, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Growing up and seeing my dad playing on the stage and his love for music.. it just kind of just planted a seed for me of that same dream as a child.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing is ever easy that’s worth having, playing 4 hour bar shows, coming home at 6 am from different states, it takes a toll. Theres also nothing more rewarding.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m proud of my farm- pigs, goats, chickens, my professional job in healthcare (I work remotely) and winning Georgia female artist of the year twice, now up for another award with Josie awards at the Grand Ol Opry. My new song leaving side of you has hit 100,000 streams in a week and that’s been a blessing.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I think taking risks is beneficial. It helps you grow to live out of your confront zone. I think all artists take risks by putting music out in the world and opening yourself up for the world.
