Today we’d like to introduce you to Autumn Knight.
Hi Autumn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m an Electropop singer/songwriter & actor based in Nashville, TN. I’m originally from Los Angeles and San Diego. My parents saw that from a young age, I was so passionate about singing and performing. I was literally dancing and singing everywhere I went. My mother told me I was singing before I could talk. I feel so blessed that they encouraged and supported my God-given gifts. I started writing original music at the age of 14. I also starred in musical theatre productions at age 12. In middle school, I continued to write my original music and perform gigs at local coffee shops and venues.
I recorded my first original song ‘Don’t Ask Why’ in the studio and submitted it along with my application to Berklee College of Music. I received a partial scholarship for my first semester. I decided to go to Berklee in Boston and graduated four years later. After graduating, I moved back to California and was collaborating with Rudy Sarzo. He mentored and helped produce me.
“Sincerity is the core of her music- she knows who she is and stayed true over the years.”
– Rudy Sarzo (Hard rock bassist, Whitesnake, Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne)
I spent many years in LA playing live shows and then released my first EP ‘Ready.’ I did an album Release Concert at Hotel Cafe in Hollywood and then Headlined at the iconic House of Blues on Sunset Blvd.
In 2014, I booked a tour across the U.S. and on that tour performed a couple of shows in Nashville. We instantly fell in love with the city. So much creativity and magic in this town. We quickly realized that we wanted to make the big move. I had no idea how profound the move was going to be on my life and personal growth until I took a leap of faith and did it. I found myself in Nashville. This city provided a fresh energy for me to create new memories.
After losing both of my parents in my 20’s, moving to a new city helped me get out of the grieving energy that I was in subconsciously for so long. I was able to breathe and tap into my heart and soul in a new way. A new chapter. Through that personal growth, I found my Electropop sound as an artist.
‘Outline’ was my first official music release after moving to Nashville. It is the song that ignited the Electro direction I wanted to take my music in. My producer/co writer Austin Shawn does a great job of bringing out the best in the voice and incorporating my Electro influences in my sound. It has been a joy releasing music with him in Nashville. I also feel so blessed that my partner Curt Hovland is a big part of the project as he plays bass & synth on the music and co-writes with me too. The creative synergy that the three of us have is really special. We always have the best time creating the music too which makes the music even stronger. We are fam.
‘Outline’ will always be one of the most special & powerful songs I have ever created.
We recently filmed a music video for the song. My amazing manager Robyn Levin directed it with incredible Videography by Nico Malinauskas. The music video takes you on a journey from LA to Nashville – highlighting iconic scenes while sharing my personal story and transformation — The New Nashville sound.
In November 2019, I released my debut album ‘Here and Now’
January 2020, I received the cover of LA Weekly and headlined at The Troubadour in Los Angeles. When the pandemic hit shortly after in March, postponing all touring, I put all my energy into writing and releasing new music and performing virtual concerts. The world is reopening and so excited to get on tour!
A silver lining in the Pandemic — My manager, Robyn Levin is such a blessing in my life. I am so excited that we have joined forces to continue to share the music with the world and give back on a global level. She gets me and her heart is so invested. It’s rare in this industry to find someone you truly feel a special connection with and understands the vision of the music. Together I know we will continue to do major things.
Despite lockdown, we’ve had a successful 1st half of 2021 –
* Won award by SongwriterUniverse for “Best Song of the Month” for ‘I Believe’
* Released 4 new singles
* Latest song, ‘Set You Free’ is playing on rotation on the radio in London
* Filmed & produced 2 new music videos
* Performed 5 Virtual concerts and private events

* And a lot more planned!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I had a lot of incredible times in California but also experienced a tremendous amount of loss and heartbreak. Both my Mother and Father passed only 3 1/2 years apart from each other. Losing both of my parents at such a young age was traumatic and shocking. I felt isolated and found it hard to relate to my peers. It was such a hard thing to process at such a young age. I had to tap into a strength that I never knew I even had. I overcame the grief through my music and resilience.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an Electropop singer-songwriter and also an actor. I specialize in writing/performing my original music and inspiring others. I’m known for my powerful vocals and uplifting with positive energy. I even have a song, ‘Set Apart’ which is a female empowerment song. I’m proud that I have been able to stay true to my authenticity and soul.
Music is therapy to me and has helped me overcome and process some of the hardest times of my life.
Giving back is very important to me. I volunteered at a teen homeless shelter for three years. Every week, I showed up to teach music and mentor the kids. Music has the power to heal.
I don’t know what I would do without music. It’s my heart and soul and I love to share it with the world and give back.
My personal style can be described as Chanel meets Anthropology.
