Today we’d like to introduce you to Blrwtch.
Hi blrwtch, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Back in 2017-2018 I got inspired by instagram edits on my for-you-page to make edits of my friends from school. After making a few picture edits with basic transitions, I moved onto editing anime which is when I learned about the many different communities, styles, standards, and thresholds of editing. I strived to push harder with the media I create because I was a phone editor at the time and felt limited to how much creativity I could express. Regardless I managed to gather a lot of attention from inspiring artists that have been editing for years or have already had big placements within the creative industry. It took a few years for me to build my first pc and this is when my creativity spiked at a all time high as I improved quicker than i’ve ever have at editing. From this point I continued to practice and be as versatile as I could be with editing. At this point of time it would be 2021-2023 and my first few years on Adobe After Effects and becoming consistent with editing standards and my own style. From this point I made an account on twitter to start doing commissions with friends and It got me more recognition than I thought. I was able to edit a few videos for ObeyAlliance, Ultraviolet (UV), and other teams for good pay. After this point of time I would just practice on perfecting my craft and working on commissions. From the editing community I was able to meet many amazing and wonderful people that are still around and help with some things at Configured.
That’s my backstory as I’m the owner of Configured and this story begins when I decided to create my first exclusive team within the instagram editing community called Era which evolved into conspiracy, and Cincity. Each version of this team had its own originality that made it stand out from other teams. At the time I viewed these versions of configured as a community team rather than a team focused on placements and commissions. Eventually as I got burnt out of managing these old versions of the team, I ended up creating my last team which is named Configured.
There are 2 start-ups/launches of configured which one is when the team was first formed and the other is when the team became an official LLC. Configured used to use two short tags that would differentiate editing members from our music artists, designers, and council (manager/helper). (CFG) would stand for our most consistent and creative members that already have much editing experience to where they most likely got accepted straight into the team. (CTN) was the other branch of the team that consisted of music artists, producers, art designers, 3d artists, and managers. Most of the original members of the pre-llc launch configured we’re recruited through an invite from me, or through our application process.
The application process is a common thing within the editing community and groups. But we value on giving helpful criticism for app participants to improve and become inspired to create more. We judge edits based of a grey area where members are allowed to make their own judgement but theres common judging knowledge about editing standards, consistency, creativity, and uniqueness. The 3 responses a participant could receive about their application is either accept (full member), re-app (reapply to the team after ops and improvement), and decline (re-apply after time of practice and improvement). These 3 verdicts allowed me to set a high-quality standard with configured especially since my member’s work reflects our criteria. From this point on we started building a following for our name by having our freelance members represent our logos and tags with their media or art. This gave the community knowledge of our standards, goals, and criteria while standing out and being different from the usual formula of editing groups.
The current positions in configured are all freelance as its a single-member LLC, but all members are paid 100% of their commission through us and configured’s earnings are earned through @blrwtch commission participation and earnings. I use the payment service stripe to ensure that payments are successful and fluent from clients to my members. So far we haven’t had a single payment problem. Anybody could apply to configured in our discord server as a editor, 2d/3d artist, sound designer, director, music producer, creative, manager, and anything that consists of creating art, even anything physical.
Our goals are to become a creative studio where we operate at a physical location and setup scenes with clients to produce creative art. Some of the main type of commissions we do for example are music videos where directors or the music artist themself will come directly to one of us and then the project is managed by configured which means a few editors or creatives from our team can be assigned a part to bring the project together. For example, for a music video I would have an artist doing the title card, someone else doing sound design, another member doing sequencing, and visual effects. We have a wide variety of many successful editors that represent us and help out when we have commissions.
From the knowledge obtained from college where I study as a cybersecurity student, I web-developed the business website configured.media/home with our lead designer @7jrdn. He drew and animated the assets on the website while I coded all of the functionalities and the whole website. This was my first solo web development fresh out of my introduction to HTML5 and CSS class.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been a very smooth road, as we’re getting good paying commissions, we’ve recruited much more consistent talent and are on the road to stability and not needing/wanting to recruit others. The only realistic struggle along the way are some of the unfortunate immature encounters from parasocial fans in the editing community.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I explained a lot of my editing backstory within the other slide but outside of creative work, I’m actually a full-time cybersecurity student at university. Im expected to graduate with my bachelor’s in 2027. I’m very committed to incorportating anything I learn from college within my business.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Surprisingly a lot of my members don’t know that I web-developed our website in 2 weeks right before our business launched as an LLC. I plan on making promo for it so it’s more known out there that I’m a web developer.
