Today we’d like to introduce you to Bradleigh Tsironis.
Hi Bradleigh, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
When Covid hit and wiped my calendar clean, I found the time to do something I’d been wanting to try for a long time — watercolor painting. I started painting Bible verses and inspirational quotes to send to people who were feeling anxious, and soon people were placing custom orders. Now, my most popular product is an annual calendar with Bible verse art for each month, designed so you can save all the art at the end of the year.
My goal has always been to encourage people with God’s truth and provide a to grow in relationship with Him. God rescued me from an abusive marriage, and getting to know God personally completely transformed my life. Now I know who I am, and am passionate to use my art and writing to encourage others on their journey on persona healing and identity with God, too.
I do everything by hand from my tiny home studio, from the watercolor art and lettering to the formatting, printing and shipping.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been hard every step of the way. I chose watercolors because it’s a free-flowing medium that forces me to let go of control and relax, and while I love it, it’s been a learning curve! My strengths are creativity and personal connection, NOT business, so marketing my work to strangers continues to be the biggest challenge. This business is certainly growing my confidence and tenacity to keep going, no matter who says I can’t succeed — even when that voice is me!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I paint with watercolor and write devotionals to encourage people in their relationship with God and their personal identity. People know me for my hand-lettered Bible verse art especially.
Ever since I was small, I’ve wanted to write books, and last year I illustrated my first children’s book. I’m very proud of that, and it’s the first of many books! Right now, I’m writing a devotional gift book with artwork on most pages. I think what sets me apart is the joyfulness and depth of my work — I’m not here just to make you feel good, or help you decorate your house with uplifting art — you can go to Hobby Lobby for that. I’m here to come alongside you like a sister and walk with you on your journey of living a richer, fuller life rooted in your true identity and purpose. And do it with beautiful art, because beauty anchors and inspires the soul.
This year a started a monthly mail club to this end, which includes weekly devotionals with daily reflection questions, a print of my watercolor art featuring this month’s theme Scripture, a personal letter, and an interactive surprise. I pray for every person in this little community, and my hope is that every month’s package helps subscribers slow down, spend time with Jesus, and grow a little deeper in their faith.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I think my favorite childhood memories all center around playing outside. My brothers and I biked through the woods so much you could see our bike trails from Google Earth. I used to perch in a tree or sit on a mossy rock by the stream and read the classics or sketch what I saw, and then go inside later and count mosquito bites! I found an abandoned reservoir in the woods near our house, and would sneak away there to write. Now, I’m most rejuvenated and inspired by just getting to be outside in the woods or on the water.
