Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Adams.
Hi Brittany, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I originally had a career in politics – working in Washington, DC post-college for a political committee. Once I moved, got married, & had a baby I started searching for a passion project. That quickly turned into freelance personal styling which then lead to me starting my Instagram.
I enrolled in Parsons School of Design (NYC) online & received a certificate in Fashion Industry Essentials. I’m a firm believer that you should always be learning – once I finished that program I focused on building my business locally, gaining several new clients, brand partners, & a partnership with a local photographer.
I recently enrolled in another online certification course with the New York Institute of Art & Design & am set to be a double certified personal stylist as well as certified in color theory this August! It’s a dream come true to be able to turn a passion into a business & to have my family support me wholeheartedly along the way!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely took some soul searching to find my way.
I’ve tested out several aesthetics (currently in the middle of a rebrand as we speak!) but all in all it’
s been such a fun few years getting this whole thing rolling! My husband is so supportive & I’ve had two baby boys along the way to keep me on my toes.
Never boring around here but I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an influencer & personal/wardrobe stylist for clients all over the country. I have a more avant-garde approach to fashion & styling & love to get creative by mixing in current trends, closet staples, & vintage gems! I believe dressing casual doesn’t have to mean boring – I’m known for wearing pajamas to dinner!
I’m most proud of my work with women who are chasing a dream & want the wardrobe to match their ambition & give them the boost of confidence to crush it.
On the influencer side, I have had the privilege of working with brands such as Express, Rent the Runway, By Grace Ambrose, Evian, etc. It is such a fulfilling & exciting role to be trusted as the creator as well as a part of the images themselves. Forever be thankful for what I get to do!
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My sweet sweet grandmother, who practically raised me, always told me the most important things to remember when leaving the house are pearls & lipstick.
She is my forever muse & greatest inspiration for my work.
