Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Chisem.
Hi Brittany , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It’ll be my pleasure. First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to share my story with this amazing platform!
I am Brittany Chisem, a native of High Point, North Carolina. I’ve been blessed to attain my Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication with a concentration in Mass Media Production from the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. I am also the Co-Owner of The Bentley Stephon Collection, plus I hold both a Bartender’s and Real Estate license!
Over the past few years, I’ve taken time to tend to personal matters but I am back and extremely ready to not only help myself but others grow more than ever.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, both yes and no!
I am a very strong willed person and once I set my mind to achieve a goal or live a dream, I’m determined to make it become my reality!
Being that I’m a very spiritual person, I realized many of my short comings came from times where I didn’t allow my faith to over come my fear. Nonetheless, each set back pushed me harder to come back stronger and conquer.
I am beyond thankful for every obstacle whether if it was spiritual, mental, physical, or financial because it truly allowed me to be refined while God continues to bless me with the opportunities needed to both learn and grow.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would like to describe myself as a multifaceted person! I am a Musical Artist, Content Creator, Online Boutique owner, Realtor, On-Air Talent and my best yet biggest role is being a mother to my son Mr. Bentley!
I’ve worked in radio as an On-Air Talent for both local and national radio stations such as WNAA 90.1 The Voice-FM, 102 Jamz and 97.9 Da Plugg. Such endeavors blessed me with the opportunities to cover major industry events such as Award Shows and Exclusive Album Listening Parties for major signed artists. In my past years, I’ve covered the BET Hip Hop Awards, BET Black Girls Rock, CIAA NWBA Luncheon Awards, Miami LIV Experience, Revolt Summit and The Winston Salem Fashion Week!
I’ve successfully assisted clients with their home buying process. Another recent accomplishment is being able to virtually help build small businesses online websites or secure grant funding for the growth of their company.
Even after a small hiatus, I’ve been blessed to attend new events and network with likeminded individuals.
I’m most known for not only going after and achieving my dreams but assisting and inspiring others to do the same!
I’m most proud of myself for never giving up or in. I’ve always been determined to be and do better, while aligning with God spiritually to grow and win!
I believe what sets me apart is the way I love when given hate, still have the passion to create and my ability to rise above detrimental obstacles that some wouldn’t know how to overcome. With all that I’ve endured in my journey, it truly propels me to give God glory and push individuals to grow in their stories!
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am a highly sensitive yet silly person! Now with the sensitivity, society would view it as a weak trait but I believe it makes me stronger and more resilient. Having a combination of being both silly and sensitive it allows me to be more confident, creative, empathetic and productive.
Oh and I love to rhyme my words like all of the time. Lol
