Conversations with Cross Beckman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cross Beckman.

Hi Cross, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I once started as a young ambitious kid, looking to lead by example. From joining the United States Marines when I was 18 years old to working construction after. I worked alongside my brother in construction for a little over a year when one day I decided to buy a camera and start documenting the outdoors. Funnily enough I had always had an interest in the bodybuilding scene so I would workout everyday for this acquired look I was trying to achieve then it all clicked together. I wanted to be a fitness videographer/photographer. I started out filming some friends locally for free to learn, practice and try to perfect my skillset, when shortly after I got a DM on instagram saying “how much do you charge?”. At that point I knew I could take this further. It was never about the money aspect but it was always about being able to do this more without working construction. I quit my construction job, and went full time freelance not knowing at all what this would entail. I took a leap that had extreme lows and ultimately extreme highs. Today I have been in freelance for over 4+ years, Been featured in GQ Magazine, NFL Threads, and have had the opportunity to work with well known celebrities, brands, businesses and much more.
I couldn’t do any of the things Ive been capable of doing without the support from my Wife and Daughter and ultimately believing there’s much more to this life along the way. Here’s to many more years doing what I love.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was never a smooth road during this process, but it was a rocky road I’d be willing to walk over barefoot again. The tough times brought the good, and the good times brought the tough. I’ve made mistakes just like any human, but I’ve learned from them and pushed forward.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in videography and photography, helping brands and businesses grow through social media. Im most proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish along the way.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory would be seeing my parents everyday, With work comes less time to visit but that’s part of life.
