Today we’d like to introduce you to DeShaunta Lane.

DeShaunta, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began my journey in the beauty industry with a hair salon (De Lane & Company), and over time, I expanded my vision to include Beauty, Health, and Wellness. That evolution led to the creation of Wellness Body Bar — a Hydrotherapy Colonic Spa and Herbal Supplement store focused on colon and gut health, as well as disease prevention. At Wellness Body Bar, our mission is to support overall wellness from the inside out.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any meaningful journey, the road to building Wellness Body Bar came with its share of bumps. It hasn’t always been smooth — one of the biggest challenges was finding the perfect location. But every obstacle was a part of the process, and each step brought me closer to the vision I had for this wellness space

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an entrepreneur — I own both a salon and a wellness spa. What makes me stand out? I’m a raconteur — a natural storyteller — and that’s a gift. I bring not just skill and charm, but an entire experience to every client interaction. I have the unique ability to build trust and emotional connection from the very first conversation, making me an asset and a true social catalyst.

My clients continue to support me not only because of the quality of my work, but because of the atmosphere I created. I’m known for being on time and respecting others’ time, which is something I take great pride in. I’ve also built a space where co-branding and collaboration are essential, creating opportunities not just for myself but for other entrepreneurs and creatives in the wellness space.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I truly love the growth, seeing new faces, welcoming newcomers, and watching new businesses take root and thrive. It excites me to be part of a community that’s constantly evolving. The energy of fresh ideas and greater networking opportunities keeps me inspired and motivated to keep building, connecting, and growing alongside others.

What I don’t love? The traffic and more so, the lack of common courtesy that sometimes comes with the newbies. A simple wave of thanks when someone lets you over in traffic goes a long way!
