Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Faraone.
Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us how you got started?
When it came to my career, I was never really sure what I wanted to be when I grew up. I knew I wanted to do something creative but didn’t know which path to take. In college, I majored in Media Art and Design but had a minor in Studio Art. Each gave me the creative outlet I craved, but one through a computer and one more hands-on. In college, I interned at the clothing brand Anthropologie as a display artist. I later took on this job post-grad. I was getting to be an artist as a career was pretty incredible. I got to work with power tools, paints, etc., to bring the window and interior displays to life from conception to installation. After Anthropologie, I worked for a high-end residential interior design firm. I was always interested in interiors and learned a lot at this job. I later moved, and that is when I started my branding firm, Deerly Co.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think being creative you can be discouraged from exploring a career in arts. I remember thinking, “how can I take a practical approach to this? Marketing?” I also wasn’t sure which medium to lean into, which was great because I got to explore so many. Starting my branding studio felt risky, being responsible for my income. But, it is gratifying. I get to work with other entrepreneurs and bring their visions to life.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
With Deerly Co. I help others with their visual presence, from branding, logo design, social media content, website design, etc. The world is so visual, especially with social media. I love that my eye for aesthetics helps these businesses grow. 100% of the businesses I work with have seen an increase in revenue– that is the best reward for me to see them grow! My style is a balance of modern and timeless. It is clean but intriguing. I work with clients to make sure their presence is consistent among platforms. Consistency is huge for creating brand trust. I love being a teammate to my clients and bringing my visual eye to their business.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
