Francisco, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always been drawn to the world of art. From a young age, I found solace and inspiration in the act of drawing and painting. It was as if the brush became an extension of my imagination, allowing me to express myself in ways words could never capture. I was six or seven years old when I picked up that brush, and I never stopped.
Growing up in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I was fortunate to attend an art school called Le Salle. It was there that I honed my skills, learned different techniques, and began my artistic journey. As I delved into the world of art, I found myself experimenting with various styles, exploring new mediums, and pushing the boundaries of my creativity.
One of my earliest endeavors was as a street muralist. I took to the streets, using art as a form of political activism, expressing my views and advocating for change through my vibrant and thought-provoking murals. It was during this time that I realized the power of art to evoke emotions, ignite conversations, and make a lasting impact.
As my journey continued, I embarked on international art tours with a multimedia expedition called “danse!” It was an exhilarating experience, traveling the world and immersing myself in different cultures, using art as a universal language to connect with people from all walks of life.
In my quest for self-discovery and artistic growth, I stumbled upon a unique medium that spoke to my soul – reclaimed wooden wine boxes. I began creating life-size portraits of jazz musicians, breathing new life into these discarded treasures. The juxtaposition of the rustic wood and the vibrant colors of my paintings brought forth a sense of history, storytelling, and reverence for the arts.
But my artistic evolution did not stop there. Over time, I found myself drawn to a whimsical and contemporary style. I realized that the most authentic expression of my artistic voice lay in creating joyful stories inspired by real-life but brought to life through my vivid imagination. My paintings became a playground of colorful characters, each with their own stories to tell.
If you step into my art gallery in Watersound, FL, you will be greeted by a world teeming with life. Amongst the canvases, you will find my loyal companions – Speedbump the opossum, Vincent Van Goat, two dogs, a cat, and even a flock of chickens. They are the playful narrators of my whimsical tales, weaving together the threads of fantasy and reality.
But my art does not exist in isolation. I am passionate about creating a platform for fellow artists who share my vision of whimsy and vibrancy. Through our gallery, My wife and I have had the privilege of showcasing the works of artists from around the world, each bringing their unique perspectives and talents to our colorful tapestry.
Today, I can confidently say that I have found my stride. My whimsical contemporary paintings bring me the utmost joy, allowing me to embrace my most authentic line and have fun throughout the creative process. With each brushstroke, I aim to capture the essence of the beautiful beach community of 30A, incorporating its native animals, my daily life with family and friends, and the vibrant energy of the area.
As I reflect on my journey, I am grateful for every twist and turn, every experimentation and evolution that has brought me to where I am today. Art has been my constant companion, guiding me through the ups and downs of life, and allowing me to share my joy and imagination with the world. And I can’t wait to see where this colorful journey takes me next.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No road worth traveling is ever smooth, especially for creative professionals like myself. The journey of an artist is filled with twists and turns, trials and tribulations. It is these challenges and bumpy roads that shape us and allows us to transform our experiences into beautiful expressions.
Creativity thrives on the unexpected, on pushing boundaries and venturing into uncharted territories. Without those bumps along the way, our art would be as flat as the most well-trodden road. It is through navigating these obstacles that we find our unique voice, our authentic line.
Each trial faced, and each detour taken adds depth and richness to our creative process. It is in these moments of struggle that we dig deeper, pushing ourselves to explore new possibilities, to experiment with different styles and techniques. The bumps in the road become growth opportunities, for discovering the untapped potential within ourselves.
As a creative professional, I have encountered my fair share of challenges. But it is precisely these obstacles that have shaped me and my art. They have taught me resilience, determination, and the importance of embracing the unknown. The road I have traveled may not have been smooth, but it has been a journey of self-discovery and artistic evolution.
So, no, the road has not been smooth. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. The bumps and hurdles have transformed my creative process, allowing me to turn those journeys into gorgeous works of expression. They have made me the artist I am today, and for that, I am grateful.

I am a painter specializing in reimagining the wonders of everyday life joyfully and colorfully. What sets my work apart from others is my unbounded imagination and my commitment to breaking free from conventional norms. I have abandoned the reliance on photographs as references, instead diving into the realm of my imagination.
This allows me to create uniquely expressive paintings infused with a sense of wonder and magic. I take pride in capturing the essence of everyday life, infusing it with a touch of whimsy. Through bold colors, imaginative narratives, and whimsical characters, I invite viewers to see the world through a new lens and embrace the joy that surrounds them. What sets me apart is my unwavering commitment to authenticity and the exploration of my creative vision. I have found liberation in letting go of external expectations and embracing the freedom to experiment. By staying true to myself, I have created a body of work that reflects my unique perspective. Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
As a professional artist, I believe that risk-taking is an inherent part of the creative journey. When you create your vision and hope that others will appreciate it enough to support your full-time pursuit, it undoubtedly involves significant risk. This risk becomes even more pronounced when you have responsibilities such as providing for a family.
In my case, I have been fortunate to have a supportive wife who has always encouraged me to take risks in my career. She has made numerous sacrifices early on to enable us to build the life we have today. She is a bigger risk-taker than myself. When we met in the streets of Argentina, just three weeks later, we got engaged. She sold everything she had to embark on this journey with me.
Both of us share a passion for recognizing opportunities that deeply move us and show promise, and we constantly encourage each other to take those leaps of faith. Our latest risk was when my wife found a villa in Italy online. Without hesitation, she bought me a plane ticket to visit it, and within three days, we decided to purchase it. It’s a remarkable endeavor considering she hasn’t even seen it in person yet. However, we both saw the immense potential and shared a vision for the place. We are thrilled and excited to spend quality time there with our two children.
Taking risks, whether they are professional or personal, requires a certain level of belief, trust, and the willingness to embrace the unknown. It is through these calculated leaps of faith that we open ourselves up to new possibilities and create a life filled with adventure, growth, and fulfillment.
