Conversations with Haley Dean

Today we’d like to introduce you to Haley Dean.

Haley, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Where to begin… I was told, I wasn’t going to make it in the beauty industry. “You just want to do hair.” I heard that so many times

“You’re not going to make any money.” That type of energy really made me super determined to be the best that I can be. I started my career in Chattanooga, TN. In 2014, I moved to Nashville 2016 after marrying my husband.

I started marketing, networking, and building my social media account! Started taking a lot of educational classes and built my clientele within a year and a half!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Oh no, no… I applied at so many salons and got told NO constantly because I didn’t have a big enough clientele or not a big enough social media following.

You also have to deal with unhappy clients sometimes and it really crushes your confidence but we have to learn from our mistakes and move on!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in blondes, balayage, and any type of lived-in color. I am mostly known for the bright blondes I’ve created and the seamless blends I give my clients! I am most proud of the friendships I’ve built with the clients, they trust me and come to me for advice on whatever is going on in their lives and I love that special bond I create with them.

What sets me apart from everyone else is the energy I bring. My clients always tell me they’re so happy to come to their appointments because they enjoy my energy and company.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Meeting my husband and being able to move to Nashville and create this dream career! If I would have never met my husband I would never have ended up here.
