Today we’d like to introduce you to Haley Wilkerson.
Hi Haley, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I found my love for photography when I was a senior in high-school, I bought a used Canon camera for $200 and started practicing taking pictures. A year or so later I had saved enough money to get a Canon 90D camera and started doing photoshoots for people here in my hometown. I had lost the love for photography when my papaw passed away in 2022, my depression and anxiety were at its worst and I had to step away. Years later I am back in the game, almost like starting over because it’s been so long. After I did my first photoshoot in years I quickly realized why I fell in love with it in the first place. I love getting to make my clients smile and also editing the photos to give it a personal touch:) I pray God never let’s me give up on my dream!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I definitely had struggles, one of them being clientele and there being so much competition in my area. Another big struggle was my papaw passing away, because of that I had to step away from photography for a few years
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My photography is something I hold near and dear to my heart and i’m very proud of myself for how far I’ve come over the years. I guess what sets me apart from others is i’m more budget friendly and i’m not the most outgoing person in the world lol.. i’m not hard to please and overall I find peace in photography
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I always feel as though my work isn’t “enough” and it definitely keeps me going and wanting to improve. I also try to be kind and problem solve when I can because I want everyone satisfied:)
