Hi Heidi, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
With over 35 years of dedicated experience in the beauty industry, I am proud to call myself a lifelong “cosmetina.” My journey began as Director of Education for the Estée Lauder Cos and Kate Spade Beauty, where I honed my skills and passion for skincare. Transitioning into entrepreneurship, I became a contributing guest editor for In Style magazine while managing an at-home business, allowing me to balance travel and homeschooling for my children.

Driven by my unwavering passion for beauty, I opened FACE FOUNDRIÉ in the gorgeous Gulch neighborhood of Nashville, a franchise that revolutionizes skincare with affordable and effective facials. Dubbed the “DryBar for facials,” our Gulch location in Nashville offers walk-ins and same-day appointments, delivering 50 minutes of transformative skincare at an accessible price point. As Franchise Owner of the Year and a member of the Franchise Advisory Board, I am committed to advancing our industry and bringing top-tier skincare experiences to everyone.

Papa God created me with a curious mind, always chasing adventures, finding joy in words, and spreading laughter like confetti. Mine is the story of a perpetual dreamer.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Entrepreneurship is never smooth sailing, but the rocky seas are truly what form our character and strengthen us! I have learned to kiss the waves that sling me against the rocky shore as that is where my greatest growth occurs!

One of our biggest “storms” was initially opening with business partners who we realized late in the process were not mutually aligned with our goals. This significantly slowed our growth however the learns from that season are invaluable! We were able to pivot strategically and re launch the store bigger and better than we ever imagined from our initial business plan!

Effective marketing is always a process; what will work with specific demographics + how much to invest in the various marketing channels. We are still learning but have always believed learning is best enjoyed in the momentum of action! There really is nothing I won’t try at least once – the old adage of “sling it against the wall and see what sticks” really should be tatooed on every entrepreneur!

I believe ignorance on fire is more powerful than knowledge on ice – just get into action and plan on learning as you GROW! Speed bumps + obstacles are to be expected – just keep moving forward and enjoy the drive!

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Playing in my mom’s closet of course! My mom had impeccable style – she was always beautifully put together! If she was LEAVING the house she was going to LEAVE an impression! Her closet + makeup + skincare was a treasure trove for a little girl who loved all things pretty! She was definitely my biggest enabler – I learned early it is better to be over dressed than under dressed and lipstick is a non negotiable!
