Conversations with Heidi Love

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heidi Love.

Heidi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Heidi Love. I’m an entrepreneur, a mother of two, a healer, a public speaker, and a relationship coach. I had my first daughter at 23, and have been self-employed for even longer. After a difficult and dysfunctional childhood, I was almost given no choice but to strike out on my own at 15. I then pursued many different small businesses and explored different educational paths, the one of which I was most passionate about at the time being beauty.

I trained and started working as a nail technician, eventually building to open up my spa and wellness center in Phoenix, Arizona. I’ve always been passionate about inner and outer beauty. Through my community there I became more interested in spirituality and alternative healing methods. I was looking for ways to learn about myself and mend from the trauma I had experienced- I didn’t want to carry on the dysfunctional communication and emotional manipulation of my early life into the new family I was starting.

I learned as much as I could about communication and relationships, studying lines of thought from multiple backgrounds- everything from psychology to resonance repatterning. At the same time, I was becoming exhausted by the spa. The long hours were becoming unsustainable and I wasn’t able to spend time with my family- which is one of the things I value most. I wasn’t honoring my truth or my energy, so I made the difficult decision to sell my business in pursuit of more work-life balance.

I relocated my daughters and myself to the Bay Area and worked to create a different kind of business that allowed me time with my loved ones. I also longed to share my acquired knowledge about communication and trauma to help others create the relationships- romantic or familiar that they longed for. I started incorporating energy and bodywork into my coaching sessions as well, which is especially helpful for those with trauma.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve been faced with many obstacles- unlearning a strict religious upbringing and working against internalized beliefs that my family of origin left me with, as well as dealing with addiction personally and in my surroundings. I’ve been able to overcome them by continuously learning and working on myself. My daughters and my family have always been my biggest motivators.

I value personal relationships on such a high level, and this is what makes me want to do the work I do now- helping people create familial and romantic settings that will help them thrive. I am dedicated and have made it my lifelong passion in helping you create relationships you can’t wait to get home to.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Entrepreneur. I have been self-employed since I moved out at the age of fifteen. I’ve worked renting spaces in salons and I’ve owned a spa with 22 employees. The healing arts and intimacy are my true passion and I’ve gotten to teach and practice them in a myriad of ways over the years. One of my favorites is starting the pilot program for holistic care and staying intimate during the dying process for Heartland and Vita’s hospice.

In this beautiful work, we provided massage and reiki to patients to meet the need for touch and intimacy while providing pain relief. With families, I had the opportunity to teach communication and presence so they could navigate the hard conversations and be present with others’ pain and grief. Presently I have a company called Five Rivers Hawaii which is an umbrella for my new way of being in business. Multiple rivers.

My spiritual path is to show up where I’m needed in life and all of it is the same to me. Currently, I help myself gain income and manage several airbnbs in which I and others I work with remodel spaces and I design and create healing environments so that all who stay benefit from the space. I own a small spa in Hawaii where we focus on inner and outer beauty and making every service a vacation experience.

I also travel and teach communication and intimacy working as well as an officiant for weddings nationwide. Weddings with a warranty so to speak. We do all the premarital and post-marital care for lasting relationships. I provide coaching and counseling on zoom to individuals, families, and couples seeking to know themselves better and to create relationships they can’t wait to come home to.

I love being an entrepreneur and sharing my relational and healing modalities in ways that people can take them in. When the student is ready the teacher will appear and healing is not always in the form we think. So again I show up where I am led.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
We grew up poor but my mom was always resourceful. She says “where there is a will there is a way”. She taught me that money wasn’t the only way to do things, and that everyone has something to exchange and resources to offer. I wanted ballet classes that we didn’t have money for and she found a teacher who would let her clean her home in trade for classes.

So she made me believe I could do anything and that what I can give is worth something. She also always believed that I had a special purpose to help others in this life and always pushed me in that direction. My stepmom showed me unconditional love and still does today. We are a lot alike and without her steady love and steadfastness, I would not be who I am today.

I’ve had numerous teachers throughout my life, some of the most influential being Scott Catamas, owner of the Love Coach Academy. He is the most empathetic present listener I’ve ever met. I’ve learned so much about communication from him. Chloe Faith Wordsworth is another, innovator of resonance repatterning, the most transformative method of psychology-based quantum physics that I have now practiced for over 20 years.

I certainly wouldn’t be where I am now without my 12-step community, which is the foundation of the beautiful sober life I get to live. I also can’t forget all the difficult relationships I’ve had. They were mirrors and opportunities for challenging growth and lessons that I now can help others with because I’ve been through them. Last and most important are my two daughters who gave me a deep purpose in life and continue to inspire me to be the best version of myself.
