Conversations with Jacob Flaugh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacob Flaugh.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania, I started out playing with a toy guitar at the age of five. I was around music my whole childhood from my father being a musician. Fast forward to the age of 10, I started watching youtube videos and really taking guitar seriously… I took in-person lessons with a teacher at age 12 and went on to join a band called “KEVLAR” in 2012. After that, I started touring the country at the age of 15 and playing bars. I would have to sit outside of the bar till we started and then would have to go back outside after the show since I was underage. After being in the band till 2018, I went on to band direct and play at a local church called “ELEVATE”. After the pandemic, I decided to make the move to Nashville, TN in August of 2022.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I feel that in general, it has been very smooth. I have been blessed beyond belief to have met many artists, music business professionals to help jumpstart my career. I have had a mentor for the last three years who guided me and shaped me into the artist and musician I am today.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Currently, I band lead and play guitar for a variety of country and rock artists in Nashville. TN. I tour full-time and do audio (mixing) part-time. Eventually, these roles will be reversed when I get older but as of now being younger (26). I plan are traveling for a while!

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Going to see my dad play when I was a kid in his country band and rock bands. I started being around music as a very young kid so this was always the gateway to my musical journey.
