Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Sanders.
Jeff, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I studied theatre in college but found myself lost after graduation. After I discovered personal development speakers and authors, I spent years digging into personal growth and found myself making major life changes. Most notably, running ultramarathons, went vegan, moved from Boston to Nashville, started a side coaching business, and launched a podcast.
Over the last 10 years, my podcast has grown into what I am most known for, and it is the greatest marketing tool in my business. I leveraged the podcast into 2 published books, speaking engagements, online courses, and audio programs, and working with many coaching & consulting clients in the worlds of personal development, productivity, and podcasting.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Monetizing my podcast was challenging for the first few years. I had to make many significant changes in order to grow the show, partner with the right ad agency, and set up the show’s tech to take advantage of dynamic ad insertion.
I’ve also personally found it especially difficult to say no to new opportunities. One of the greatest ways to make significant progress is to focus, and I find myself wanting to explore new arenas more than doubling down on what needs my attention.
In the last 5 years, balancing work while raising my 2 young girls has been the greatest challenge by far. Parenting is tough on its own, but it’s quite a daunting feat to keep a business afloat and parent well at the same time.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My podcast, The 5 AM Miracle, is what I am most known for and it’s the best part of my business today. Through my podcast, coaching, courses, and speaking engagements, I focus on helping high achievers dominate their day in the areas of productivity, personal growth, and healthy habits.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My wife Tessa has been my greatest partner and cheerleader throughout the growth of my podcast and business.
