Conversations with Jessica Miller

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Miller.

Hi Jessica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
From 2016-2020, I attended Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, and received my bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, & event management with a minor in marketing. Throughout my time at BGSU, I have had multiple internship opportunities. My senior year I moved to Orlando, FL and did the Disney college program. That is where I got my start in the entertainment industry.

Covid hit, and I finished school remotely while living in Orlando. That’s when I downloaded TikTok & started posting on social media, quickly realizing I enjoyed it and could see it going somewhere. In January 2021, after graduating college, I moved to Nashville & worked in the music industry while doing social media. Moving to Nashville opened up a door of opportunities in the music scene and social media world. In Sept. 2022, I signed up for 1 AM management for influencer marketing.

From then till now, I have been with them, growing my platforms, slowly but surely, taking advantage of any opportunity given to see where my social media can take me now & in the future. I’ve attended some cool events like the CMAs, Amazon music, tarte event, & many others. Work with some artists and many brands, & meet many people. I look forward to seeing where my social media and growth take me in the future in this industry.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing about social media is a smooth road. You never know how people will react to your content and being a creator.

There are days when you’re nonstop motivated & days when you have no clue what to post. However, the good days outweigh the bad & lead you to where you are meant to be. If you stay consistent, you will eventually see growth.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe you can tell us more about your work next?
I am a content creator signed to 1 AM management for influencer marketing and management. I am a lifestyle influencer who posts her day-to-day life traveling, living in Nashville, & everything and anything that comes with it. I am most known for living in Nashville & showing what it’s like in this city.

Some people also know me from being the TN date in the TikTok series 50 Dates 50 states in March of 2022. I’m most proud of how hard I continue to push when I don’t know what will come next.

Social media is unpredictable & can be frustrating, but you will see success eventually if you keep pushing. I would say my personality & how straightforward I am sets me apart from others. I am very honest & real. I don’t beat around the bush because it’s what others want to hear.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think risk-taking is the key to growth. You never know what can happen if you take the risk & you’ll always wonder “what if” if you don’t.

I believe I take risks by saying “yes” to every opportunity offered, whether it might not always be the best. Some of the risky “yeses” I’ve made have turned out to be the best opportunities.
