Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessie Goldsmith.
Hi Jessie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up singing in the children’s choir at school and had my first big gig with the family band at the age of 15. In 2012, I studied jazz singing, and piano at the Vienna Conservatory. My music bridges continents and cultures with heartfelt pop Americana tunes. I split my time between Zurich, Switzerland, and Nashville, Tennessee and have found my music reaches listeners far and wide.
My goal is to capture the warmth of Nashville sounds with a fresh European twist. My creative process is shaped by a love for storytelling and the magic of live performance. Ultimately, my music is about authenticity and the raw emotions that make us human.
In 2019, I released my first single “Jealous.” My latest creation, “Be Brave,” released on August 25th, 2023. Whether in Zürich, Nashville, or anywhere in between, my music invites you to be brave, to connect, and to embrace the beauty of authenticity.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t always been a smooth ride. But you know what? I think that’s perfectly okay. Questioning yourself and facing challenges is a natural part of any creative journey. I believe that easy roads can sometimes be a bit boring. It’s the bumps, detours, and rainy days that truly shape us and our art. There have been moments when self-doubt crept in, making me wonder if I was on the right path. There were times when things didn’t go as planned.
Those struggles have been invaluable lessons. They’ve taught me resilience, the importance of adapting, and the beauty of embracing the journey, even when it gets tough. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is battling self-doubt, which can sometimes be louder than any external criticism. As artists, we’re often our harshest critics, and overcoming those moments of uncertainty has been a constant journey of self-discovery.
Additionally, there’s the challenge of recognizing when some people might be seeking more than just genuine support. In the world of music, as in any industry, some try to get a piece of the cake for themselves. Learning to differentiate between genuine allies and those with ulterior motives has been an eye-opening experience, shaping my ability to make sound decisions for my career.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Singer-Songwriter and Performing Artist. I specialize in crafting songs that capture the essence of human experiences—love, hope, struggles, and triumphs.
What I’m most proud of is the ability to connect with my audience. I believe that music has a unique power to touch hearts, and witnessing the impact my songs have on people’s lives is incredibly fulfilling. Whether it’s a small acoustic setting or a grand stage, I thrive on the energy of performing and sharing those moments with my fans.
What sets me apart is the authenticity I bring to my music.
Every song I create is a piece of my heart, a genuine reflection of my journey and the world around me. I pour my emotions into every lyric and every note, creating an intimate experience for my listeners. I strive to make my music a source of inspiration, empowerment, and solace, connecting people through shared emotions and stories.
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Throughout my journey, the most important lesson I’ve learned is that I hold my luck in my hands. Understanding that I have the power to shape my destiny has been a game-changer. It’s given me the motivation to push through challenges, take risks, and keep honing my craft.
The other important lesson I’ve learned is the value of authenticity. In a world saturated with content, being genuine is what resonates with people on a deeper level. It’s not about conforming to trends or trying to fit into a mold; it’s about staying true to who I am and expressing that truth through my art. Authenticity isn’t just a buzzword—it’s the only thing that’s going to stand the test of time and continue to connect with audiences in a meaningful way.
