Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiana Iman
Hi Kiana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
If you had told me 10 years ago that one day I’d be turning my creative passions into a full-time career, working with brands like Walmart, Snapchat, and Meta, I would’ve laughed (or maybe nervously nodded while internally freaking out). But here we are!
Back in 2015, when YouTube was at its peak, so was my obsession with becoming a content creator. I had ZERO idea what I was doing or where this path would take me – I just knew I loved making videos and had a stubborn belief that I could make something out of it.
I was all in—taking Broadcasting and A/V classes, filming my own skits, and dreaming of a future as a graphic designer and video editor. When it came to talking to a camera? A breeze. Talking to people? A whole different story. I had extreme social anxiety in high school—like, shake-in-front-of-10-people level nerves. I used to have little to no confidence and saw it as a huge weakness. Then, out of nowhere, I got scouted for modeling. And let me tell you, it was WAY outside my comfort zone.
Instead of running from it, I saw an opportunity. I saw modeling as a way of getting out of my comfort zone, tackling my limiting beliefs, social anxiety, and a way to gain the confidence I needed to tackle any other goal I had planned. I figured if I could conquer something that terrified me to the extent modeling did- then I could conquer ANYTHING. So, I went for it.
What started as a personal challenge turned into a game-changer. Modeling helped me build the confidence I needed to chase every dream I had, no matter how scary. I feel many people have come to know me through modeling, but modeling was actually originally a side quest lol
Fast forward to 2025, and here I am—a graphic designer, content creator, and model who’s had the insane opportunity and privilege of working on various campaigns and partnerships for brands like Walmart, Snapchat, Meta, Loreal, and Macy’s (still feels surreal sometimes!). Since I started this amazing journey, all I’ve ever wanted to do is bring ideas and concepts to life, fueled by creativity, passion, and an ever-evolving vision. As a creator, I don’t just create content – I strive to CREATE my reality.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey has been full of twists, turns, and a few “What am I even doing?” moments. The road has been anything but smooth, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Every challenge has shaped me into the creative and entrepreneur I am today.
One of the biggest struggles was self-doubt. When I first started, I had no blueprint, no mentor, and no idea if this was even a real career path. I was just a girl with a camera, a passion for storytelling, and a dream that felt way bigger than me. Social anxiety was another major hurdle—putting myself out there, networking, and even just speaking in front of people felt terrifying. But instead of letting fear win, I saw every uncomfortable moment as a stepping stone.
Then came the reality of freelancing—learning how to navigate inconsistent income, brand negotiations, and the constant pressure to “stay relevant” in a fast-moving digital space. There were months of questioning if I was making the right choice, moments of burnout from doing everything myself, and times when opportunities felt scarce. But every setback taught me resilience, every “no” led me to a better “yes,” and every failure helped me refine my craft.
Through it all, I’ve learned that success isn’t about having a perfect journey—it’s about showing up, learning as you go, and refusing to quit. If I had let fear or obstacles stop me, I wouldn’t be working my dream job today. So, while the road has been anything but smooth, it’s been worth every twist and turn.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I wear a lot of creative hats, but at the core of everything I do, my mission is simple: helping individuals and brands bring their creative visions to life—whether it’s through graphic design, modeling, or content creation.
Most people know me through modeling, but fun fact? I actually prefer editing photos over posing for them lol my real passion lies in bringing creative visions to life behind the scenes. For work, I’m a digital media specialist and graphic designer at AYS Personal Assistant Service LLC, and I also create content for brands as a UGC creator. Whether I’m behind the scenes or in front of the lens, I love crafting visuals that make an impact.
Every project has been a new challenge and opportunity to push creative boundaries. But what I’m most proud of? Turning my passions into a full-time career—one that allows me to create, collaborate, and inspire others to chase their own creative dreams. I love being a part of the process of others following their dreams – modeling, graphic design, and being a content creator is how I bring ideas to life. I don’t just make content; I create moments, tell stories, and turn visions into reality. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone take a leap toward their dreams, and knowing my work played even a small role in that? That’s what keeps me going.
So, what sets me apart? Honestly, nothing. Anyone can do what I do. The tools, the skills, the resources—they’re all out there. But if I had to pinpoint something, I’d say it’s my mindset. I don’t just dream—I set goals. I don’t wait for opportunities—I create them. I’ve always believed that if you’re willing to learn, adapt, and put in the work, there’s no limit to what you can achieve.
That mindset has carried me from being an anxious kid obsessed with making videos to working on campaigns with brands I once only dreamed of. I never saw success as something out of reach—just something I had to be relentless enough to go after. At the end of the day, I don’t just want to create content. I want to create my own reality—and help others do the same.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
The COVID-19 crisis was a wake-up call in so many ways, but the biggest lesson I took from it? Adaptability is everything.
Before the pandemic, I had a clear vision of what I thought my career would look like. But when the world shut down, everything changed overnight. I remember almost a year and some change of everyone being super cautious to do shoots and runways because we were TERRIFIED. Modeling events were canceled, opportunities disappeared, and the traditional ways of working no longer applied. Instead of panicking, I saw it as a challenge—a chance to pivot, learn new skills, and find new ways to create.
I started doing UGC in the midst of all that chaos during quarantine. I quickly came to the realization that going out to castings and auditions just turned into pitching to brands I wanted to work with and learning to negotiate. Trying to build a portfolio turned into creating my own content. When it came down to it the only difference was I no longer needed my agency to work with brands and could work from ANYWHERE. The day I made $600 to shoot one photo for Walmart and didn’t even have to leave my house? I was SOLD.
That period pushed me to explore more digital opportunities, refine my skills in graphic design and content creation, and fully embrace remote work. It showed me that nothing is guaranteed, but if you’re willing to adapt and stay open to new possibilities, you can thrive in any situation. It reinforced something I’ve always believed: betting on yourself is the best investment you can make. Because when everything else is uncertain, your mindset, skills, and ability to adapt will always be your greatest assets.
More than anything, the pandemic reminded me why I do what I do. Creativity connects people—even when we’re apart. Whether it was brands finding new ways to engage audiences online or individuals turning their passions into businesses, I saw firsthand how powerful content and digital media could be.
