Today we’d like to introduce you to Lavonne Redferrin.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The largest struggles lie within keeping the finances it takes to run such a large rescue; dealing with the apathy of many who see no need to fix or properly care for their pets; securing enough fosters; and as of late having enough cost effective options for spay/ neuter needs.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I hold both Bachelors and Masters degrees in education..,While these have proven advantageous in rescue as rescue requires developing good relationships with people and educating many on animal care, the biggest preparation for my job as executive director of Proverbs has been watching and learning daily.

While our rescues come from many sources ( shelters, strays, owner surrenders, and abuse and neglect cases ) our specialty has evolved into being the rescue many shelters and law enforcement call to take critically injured, sick,, neglected, or maimed. animals. This has created a critical need to raise large amounts of money to cover these precious victims. The struggle is real.
