Today we’d like to introduce you to Liam Bauman.
Hi Liam, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in Bradenton, Florida, in the summer of 1998. My parents are from Canada, and they’ve always been huge music lovers, so I was basically raised to the sounds of artists like Tom Petty & Bruce Springsteen. I started playing guitar at twelve and began writing songs shortly after. Throughout my time in high school and early college, I made a name for myself in the Florida folk scene as an accompaniment guitarist, but around 2019 I started taking center stage and leaned into my writing. Since then, I’ve released a five-song EP and my first self-produced single. After years of touring and building an audience in the Tampa Bay music scene, I decided I wanted to attend the Blackbird Recording Academy and move to Nashville with my two best friends (also songwriters). In early April, we made a move to TN, and since moving, I have played a few shows here. So far, I have found the Nashville songwriter scene to be very welcoming, and I look forward to getting to know this city in the coming months.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has been pretty smooth, in my opinion. I’ve been very fortunate to have family and friends that are incredibly supportive. The only struggles I’ve faced since taking music seriously have been finding my own identity as an artist.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Since I’m going to school full time (Blackbird), I’m not currently working a job. So to make money, I’m now doing freelance mixing and remote recording at home.

I have two singles coming out very soon, with an entire project to follow next year.
