Today we’d like to introduce you to Malak Osli

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I originally got interested in music when I was very young and I had seen James Brown and Elvis Presley on the television and I started copying their moves. As time progressed my views on music had changed and I wanted to be a chef which is a second passion of mine. My family loves to cook and I love to eat, however music was always in the back of my mind. When I was about 11 I told my mom I didn’t wanna be a chef any more and that I wanted to pursue music, she wasn’t too happy about this at first but she came around and became one of my biggest supporters. Fast forward after graduating my senior year in high school from a small town in Mendenhall Mississippi I immediately decided to move to Franklin Tennessee and get a degree in Audio Engineering and Music Business. My mom and her family were on board and very supportive sadly my dad as well as his relatives were not. In spite of not having their support I relocated into my new life and here we are. By the grace of God and the full of support of my mom mentally, emotionally and especially financially we were able to weather the storm. I successfully transitioned and graduated from music school with straight A’s and I met some amazing people along the way. I was then able to start a new family in Nashville with a group of my closest friends called Bad Weather Ent and we have taken the music scene by storm pun intended.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No it wasn’t easy, I didn’t have a car for two years and I had to ride a bike to work 10 miles everyday while my mom supported me through school.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do a lot of Rnb and Hip Hop and i call my sound Trap Rnb but im very versatile and I listen to various genres of music. One of my favorite songs is welcome to the jungle. One of my biggest accomplishments is being able to move to a new state straight out of highschool and thrive the kid in me is very happy to see my dreams of performing and doing what I enjoy come true.

Life isn’t about just trying to survive it’s about enjoying it while you are here and making the best of any situation. You only die once so you should live everyday.

What sets me apart from others is a genetic thing entirely, I’m a different breed there is no one on this planet with my genetic code vocal prowess and that’s just scientific fact. I’m fueled by the fire that is perseverance and I have my own story similar to others but different in its own way that I’m writing with my own pen.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Respect matters the most to me because it’s universal. But authenticity is what I believe in to my core and I always want to meet and be around authentic people whether it’s good or bad. If you’re authentically a horrible person I can see that I will remove you from my life point blank. Im all about protecting my energy and that always has to be positive.
