Conversations with Micah Pringle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Micah Pringle.

Hi Micah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I feel as though what I’m doing now is truly a confluence of everything I’ve been a part of up to this point. I’m the oldest son of a preacher, so I grew up listening to someone try to communicate very specific messages on a very regular basis, which is half of what my job is with brands – helping them get their point across clearly and powerfully.

I’ve been wired as a creative as long as I can remember, from visual art to a stint as a music director… and that creative expression is “how” we all work to get our point across.

Having a curiosity about people and the world at large has also been a big part of my formation. Traveling the globe and realizing that ultimately we are all chasing the same kind of moments and feelings. And that’s really how I view my role… to come alongside someone, get clear about what they wanna say, then we work together to do it in a way that makes people truly feel something and move them to action.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey’s been FAR from smooth. I self-destructed in my early thirties, I’ve dealt with imposter syndrome regularly, and I’ve struggled to find my own voice in moments of loss and frustration… I could keep going…

But I’ve found that those dark moments are what actually serve to teach me the most. I have an axiom I live by: “the only way out is through”… and every time I get “through”, the other side is beautiful and worth it.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Brand Therapist. It’s a term that someone assigned to me once and I loved it enough that I’ve kept it. What it means is I help people get crystal clear on the “why” behind the thing they do — from music artists to e-commerce and luxury establishments — and then we take that newfound clarity and cook up creative (photo/video/language/etc.) that cuts through the noise and works.

I’m far from the best creative out there, but I think perhaps what sets me and my work apart is the empathy I try to bring to each person, married with an irreverence for “the way it’s always been done”. My mantra is “kind hearts, dope work, that’s it.” And I stand by it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Oh man… luck, serendipity, or whatever you want to call it is ALWAYS a factor. I’d also say that the harder you work, and the more risk you’re willing to take, the more opportunity you create for that “luck” to strike.
