Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Mostert.
Hi Mike, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My Journey has been quite an adventure of unexpected twists and turns to bring my life back to full circle. I was signed to EMI/ Toshiba in the early ’90s and toured the world, etc. Making a living in music was challenging so following my entrepreneurial, inventor, and business spirit, I immersed myself in my business and companies for many years.
Essentially turned my back on music unless a one-off special TV/ Film project in which I have written music for many major networks and film. Due to the success of my companies, specifically GoGo Tuners it brought me back into playing music as a guitarist, composer, a producer working with many high profile artists and legends producing the highly critical acclaimed Mike Mostert & GoGo Tuner Family Record working out the famous Music City of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. This led to producing, writing, and playing guitar for the Hard Rock band “In Theory” and Lanesha / Mostert featuring LaNesha Latimer ( Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Lopez), The Swampers, etc leading to being played on over 150 radio stations and being interviewed by audiences surpassing over 100+ million listeners.
So essentially, I lead two lives one as a Producer/ Writer/ Guitarist and the other as CEO/ Founder and SVP for multiple companies that are constantly intertwined.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
While it seems like a smooth path after achieving success, it’s never an easy road to success. The struggles will always be there and you have to be willing to sacrifice, believe in yourself, work, work, and more work and be patient to attain your ultimate dreams
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I call myself the Clark Kent/ Superman identity crisis… lol. Working in between the role both being an artist/ producer/writer/guitarist in the music industry and the role of CEO/ founder/ Inventor of one company called GoGo Tuners and SVP of Sawtooth/ Chromacast and several other business ventures in music retail business. I am very proud of many things as GoGo Tuners creating that from nothing to being # 5 in the USA. In addition, being the first company in music retail history to create an Artist roster record was groundbreaking.
In the most recent music incarnation as an artist/producer having four songs charting on different Genres charts simultaneously was an amazing accomplishment as well 100’s of Radio, TV, Podcast, Magazine stations and millions of people enjoying the passion of our music has been quite special. Of course, getting to play and create music with some legendary people in music history who truly feel and appreciate your passion makes me extremely proud
I think one of the key things that set me apart is that I adept in both roles as a businessman/ Entrepreneur equally as a musician/ producer/ writer/ artist. I love doing both!! I am a very passionate person and put my heart and soul into all aspects of my life
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
I have learned time and life is precious.
