Conversations with Morgan Miller

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Miller.

Morgan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I moved to Nashville on January 1, 2021, to pursue my dream of being a personal trainer for women.

I had started a small wellness business in college and had hopes of expanding my clientele in the city. But, after about 3 months of living in Tennessee, I started to see the interest in my services die down a bit. At the time, I was living with a roommate that I had met online and she was a real estate agent.

She convinced me to take the money I had in my savings, get my real estate license, and do real estate full time. In a month, I was working for her brokerage and started the journey to sell my first home.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road, at all. Being 100% commission as a young adult with one income is stressful, to say the least.

They say that it usually takes 6-12 months of being an agent to sell your first home, but prior to starting, I didn’t know that. So here I am with no money in my savings, a full-time commission job, and no prospective clients. Plus, the company that I was working for did not align well with my personal beliefs and values of being an agent.

There were 60-80 hour work weeks, months of no income, and struggling to make ends meet last year to make my way to being a successful force in the industry.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work at Parks Realty in Franklin. I am an affiliate broker (real estate agent) and I specialize in helping first-time home buyers, out-of-state clients, or those going through life changes find a home in Tennessee that can best fit their needs.

I am the proudest of being an agent that my past clients can say made the process of buying a home simple and fun for them. What sets me apart from other agents is my deep desire to serve my clients and treat them like family. I know that buying a house is a big deal and in this market, it is not easy.

There are many reasons for moving, and I want to make each client of mine feel seen, known, and heard throughout the process.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I truly don’t believe in luck, I believe in God’s favor and provision for those that are following him. I believe that God has put me in the right brokerage and area where I can thrive. I also believe in the power of hard work and persistence.
