Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia Kawalec.
Hi Natalia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started singing in church when I was little, which is really where my love for music began. I was born in Chicago, but my parents are from Poland, so I grew up deeply connected to the Polish community and culture. I started playing piano at age 4 and later joined my middle school band where I played flute and during that time also taught myself guitar. My passion for singing and songwriting grew stronger over the years, and one day I came across a Facebook ad for The Voice Kids Poland. I decided to audition, and that journey led me to placing in the top 3 on Season 3. That experience solidified my calling — I knew it was music or nothing.
Shortly after, I made the move to Nashville to attend Belmont University, where I’m currently heading into my senior year, studying Commercial Music and Music Business. It’s been a wild, beautiful ride so far, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road. When you enter the industry at such a young age, people tend to freeze you in time — they remember the 14 or 15-year-old version of you that first hit the spotlight. But I’m not 15 anymore. I’m 21 now, and both my music and my perspective have evolved. One of the biggest challenges has been stepping outside of that bubble and proving that I’ve grown — not just as an artist, but as a person.
Another struggle has been navigating authentic relationships. In this industry, it can be hard to tell who’s genuinely there for you and who’s just around for the clout or opportunities. But I’m incredibly grateful to have found a circle of people I trust, who love me for who I am — not just for what I do. The journey hasn’t been smooth but I wouldn’t change it for the world!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a pop-country artist, and I think what I’ve become known for — especially online — is my powerhouse ballad covers and the ability to take a song and truly make it my own. Over the last three years, I’ve been working closely with some incredibly talented people to shape a sound that feels authentically me, and I’m so proud of what we’ve created. I truly can’t wait for the world to hear this new chapter of my artistry.
What sets me apart is, honestly, just that I’m unapologetically myself. I bring a unique blend of Polish-American roots into everything I do — from my vocal style and lyrical perspective to how I carry myself as an artist. My background gives me a different lens through which I tell stories, and I think that mix of cultures brings something special to my songwriting and sound.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I absolutely adore Nashville! Living in a city where music is a constant presence is such a blessing. There’s so much talent here, and being surrounded by creatives who are passionate about what they do is incredibly inspiring. Every day feels like a new opportunity to learn, grow, and be moved by someone else’s art. I also love the rich history of Nashville — especially its roots in country music. Learning how this town became “Music City” has deepened my appreciation for where I live and what I do. It’s a place where tradition and innovation coexist, and that makes it all the more special to be a part of.
