Today we’d like to introduce you to Porscha Carter.
Porscha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, and my journey has been anything but traditional. I’ve always had a passion for creativity, fashion, travel, and connecting with people, but my professional journey actually started in healthcare. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Public Health and later went on to receive my MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Administration. Over the years, I’ve gained more than eight years of experience in the healthcare industry, working in various roles that have helped shape my work ethic, confidence, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Although healthcare has been a big part of my life, I’ve always known there was another side of me that wanted to explore more creatively. I’ve always enjoyed being in front of the camera, modeling, traveling, trying new experiences, and expressing myself through fashion and lifestyle content. What started as simply sharing things I genuinely enjoyed on social media eventually turned into opportunities I never imagined.
As I continued growing my social media presence, I began exploring modeling, brand ambassadorships, influencer partnerships, and user-generated content (UGC) creation. I’ve had the opportunity to work with different brands, participate in promotional events, and even appear on NewsChannel 5’s Talk of the Town. I’ve also been featured in publications such as NashvilleVoyager and CanvasRebel, which gave me opportunities to share more of my journey.
One thing about me is that I’ve never wanted to limit myself to just one career or passion. I believe you can be educated, career-driven, creative, and entrepreneurial all at the same time. I’ve worked hard to build a professional career while also creating opportunities for myself outside of the traditional workplace.
Today, I’m continuing to grow as a content creator, model, influencer, and entrepreneur while expanding my brand and working toward turning my creative passions into a full-time career. My content focuses on lifestyle, beauty, fashion, wellness, and travel, and I genuinely enjoy sharing experiences that inspire others to explore new things and enjoy life.
I’m still learning, growing, and figuring things out along the way, but that’s what makes the journey so exciting. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that you don’t have to have everything figured out to start pursuing something you’re passionate about. Sometimes you just have to believe in yourself, take that first step, and be willing to see where life takes you.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t say my journey has been a smooth road, but I can definitely say it’s been a rewarding one. I’ve experienced my share of challenges, setbacks, and moments where I questioned whether I was moving in the right direction. However, every experience has taught me something valuable about myself and the importance of staying true to what I want out of life.
One of my biggest challenges has been balancing my professional career in healthcare while pursuing my creative passions. Working full-time, managing responsibilities, and still finding the time and energy to create content, attend events, network, and build my personal brand hasn’t always been easy. There have been plenty of days when I’ve felt exhausted, but I remind myself that I’m working toward something bigger.
Another challenge has been learning how to navigate the creative industry. It’s a competitive space, and opportunities don’t always come as quickly as you’d like. I’ve dealt with rejection, collaborations that didn’t go as planned, and situations where I’ve had to learn my worth and advocate for myself. I’ve also had to step outside my comfort zone, put myself out there, and learn not to compare my journey to someone else’s success.
I’ve learned that not everyone will see your vision, and that’s okay. Sometimes you have to be your own biggest supporter, especially when you’re building something from the ground up. I’ve had to develop patience, confidence, resilience, and the ability to keep moving forward even when things don’t go as planned.
Through it all, I remain grateful because I truly believe every challenge has helped shape the woman I am today. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, but I also know there’s so much more I want to accomplish. My biggest lesson has been that success isn’t always a straight path. It’s about remaining consistent, having faith in God, trusting the process, and never allowing temporary setbacks to stop you from pursuing the life you envision for yourself.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Nashville-based content creator, influencer, model, and UGC creator with a passion for fashion, beauty, lifestyle, travel, and wellness. I specialize in creating authentic, engaging content that connects with people while helping brands tell their stories in a creative and relatable way. Whether it’s creating short-form videos, product photography, modeling, attending brand events, or showcasing unique experiences, I genuinely enjoy bringing different ideas to life.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with brands such as Fashion Nova, ZEELOOL, BERLOOK, Smirnoff Ice, and Lone River Ranch Water. I’ve also had the opportunity to serve as a Fashion Nova brand ambassador, which has allowed me to further express my love for fashion and personal style. I’ve participated in various brand activations and promotional events, including Bonnaroo, and had the opportunity to model on NewsChannel 5’s Talk of the Town. Being featured in NashvilleVoyager and CanvasRebel has also been special because those opportunities allowed me to share more of who I am beyond social media.
What I’m most proud of is being able to create opportunities for myself while maintaining a professional career in healthcare. Having a bachelor’s degree in Public Health and an MBA in Healthcare Administration, my background is a little different from what people might expect from someone in the creative industry. However, I believe that’s part of what makes my journey unique. I’ve never felt that I had to choose between being career-driven and being creative. I can be both, and I love that about myself.
I would say what sets me apart is my personality, versatility, and authenticity. I’m naturally outgoing, adventurous, and always open to trying something new. I love connecting with people, discovering new places, and sharing experiences that others can relate to or feel inspired by. I don’t want my content to feel overly scripted or forced. I want people to feel like they’re experiencing those moments right along with me.
I’m also very intentional about the brands and opportunities I choose to work with. I believe in creating content that aligns with my personality, interests, and values rather than simply promoting something for the sake of a collaboration.
Ultimately, I want to be known as someone who isn’t afraid to step outside her comfort zone, pursue multiple passions, and create her own opportunities. I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built, the experiences I’ve gained, and the growth I’ve made as a creator. I’m excited to continue expanding my brand, working with new companies, traveling, and seeing where this creative journey takes me next.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I believe one of the most important qualities to my success is perseverance.I’ve always been someone who is determined to accomplish whatever I set my mind to, even when things don’t go as planned. I understand that success doesn’t happen overnight, and sometimes the journey requires patience, sacrifices, and stepping outside your comfort zone.
I also believe authenticity plays a huge role in my success. I’ve never wanted to change who I am just to fit into a certain industry or meet someone else’s expectations. Whether I’m working in healthcare, creating content, modeling, or collaborating with brands, I always want to remain true to myself and the values I stand for.
Another quality I value is being open-minded and willing to learn.I’m naturally adventurous, love meeting new people, and enjoy exploring opportunities that challenge me to grow. I don’t believe in limiting myself to one career path or allowing fear to keep me from trying something new.
Most importantly, my faith in God keeps me grounded.I truly believe that what’s meant for me will find its way to me, but I also understand that I have to put in the work. I try to approach everything with a positive mindset, consistency, and gratitude.
For me, success isn’t just about recognition or financial accomplishments. It’s about personal growth, creating opportunities, building meaningful relationships, and being able to look back and feel proud of the woman I’m becoming. As long as I continue learning, growing, and staying true to myself, I consider that success.
