Conversations with Rachael Mann

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachael Mann.

Hi Rachael , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started singing at the age of seven. One day, I simply remember waking up and singing in my garage. No one in my immediate family was a singer, but I grew up around music, with many family members playing different instruments.

From a young age, I fell in love with music and spent countless hours teaching myself how to sing, develop harmonies, and write songs. While other kids were outside playing, I was often in my room with a karaoke machine creating music and dreaming about the future.

Looking back, I believe I am where I am today because I never stopped pursuing what I truly believe is a God-given gift and calling. Through faith, perseverance, and a love for music, I have continued to follow that dream, and I am grateful for every opportunity along the journey.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road, but no, it has not always been easy. There have been times when I wanted certain doors to open or opportunities to happen, and they simply didn’t. Along the way, I sometimes became frustrated when things weren’t moving in the direction or timing I had hoped for.

However, looking back on my journey now, I am incredibly grateful for both the doors that opened and the ones that remained closed. Those experiences taught me that sometimes things happen—or don’t happen—for a reason. The lessons I’ve learned through the challenges, disappointments, and victories have shaped me into the person and artist I am today. I truly believe God has guided every step of the journey, and I am thankful for all of it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Most people know me as a singer, although I also do acting work as well. Singing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and it’s something I have pursued since I was very young.

I think people also know me as someone who works hard and perseveres through challenges. Throughout my journey, I have remained committed to pursuing my goals and continuing to grow both personally and professionally. However, if you asked most people what they know me for, they would likely say music. Singing has always been at the heart of who I am, and it has been a lifelong passion that continues to shape my journey today.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
One thing that may surprise people is that I worked as a Production Assistant on American Idol during the original years with Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul. It was an incredible experience that gave me a behind-the-scenes look at one of the biggest television shows in the country.

During that time, I had the opportunity to spend time with the cast, including going out to eat with Simon, Randy, and Paula. I also got to spend time with Ryan Seacrest. They were all wonderful to be around, and it was a fun and memorable experience that I will always cherish.
