Conversations with Ragon Petty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ragon Petty.

Hi Ragon, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have had a passion for beauty my whole life. Starting at a very young age, I would do my makeup for fun and experiment with various skincare products. My friends would always ask me to do their makeup for them, or give them skincare tips. This made me happy to have a skill that helped others. When I was 20, I discovered the Esthetics programs and began school at Paul Mitchell in Hendersonville. It was great to learn more about what I have been into my whole life. After I graduated, I got a job at WPS Clinical Skin, which is where I am at now. My team is so incredibly helpful and motivating, always driving me to do my best. It is very rewarding to do what I love and make others feel great.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not necessarily been a smooth road. I had some health issues during school, which made some people doubt me. The doubts definitely made me insecure, but deep down I knew I was still great at providing services. I listened to my doctor and did everything I could to get better, and I did.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I provide esthetic services including laser hair removal, microneedling, dermaplaning, lash lifts, lash tints, brow tints, brow lamination, waxing, radio frequency, microcurrent, microdermabrasion, customized facials, aquaboost hydro facials, LED facials, and chemical peels. I am known for my calming touch and specialize in microneedling. I am most proud of helping others feel like their best self inside and out. What sets me apart from others is that I have my own custom techniques and keep up with current beauty industry trends.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I learned to listen more than I speak. Sometimes I get key insights about someone’s skin just through conversation. For example; someone just talking about their lifestyle can tell me important information.
