Today we’d like to introduce you to Regina Blatt.
Hi Regina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always been curious about the afterlife. I grew up watching all the ghost hunting shows on tv and thought I would love to try that, never thinking that it would impact my life the way that it did. My journey into the paranormal started 16 years ago, when my sister committed suicide. Her passing was a shock to all of us and not something that we ever expected, as no one ever does. But with her passing, she started to visit me in my dream. Dreams that were so vivid that I knew they had to be real. I could feel her hugs, smell her hair and hear her voice. It was comforting to me, and I was happy for the interaction with her. Then, 3 years later, I lost my father to lung cancer, and he started to visit me in my dreams as well. I knew then that there was more to this life than our physical bodies and I set out on a journey to find answers.
About 14 years ago, I attended my first ghost hunt at the Stanley Hotel in Colorado, where Stephen King wrote the Shining, with my best friend Rhonda Sellers. We bought some ghost hunting equipment and set off to explore the unknown. Little did we know what we would capture. We had a great time, did our ghost hunt and returned home. Upon reviewing our digital voice recorder, we captured 3 electronic voice phenomenon (EVP’s) all of the same male voice. The first one said, “Where are they?”. The second one said “Nikki”. And the last one said, “Nikki’s Death”. This blew me away as my sister’s name was Nikki. I knew that these messages were for me and proof that she was on the other side try to communicate. It was amazing and I knew from that moment on that I had to explore this path.
Over the next 14 years and counting, I have been to some of the most haunted locations in the U.S. trying to find more answers to the unknow. Rhonda and I formed our own all female paranormal team called PPF Investigations (Pursuing Paranormal Facts) with other liked minded females to include Jessie Krzeminski and Cassie Mullins. We have been fortunate enough to have had many opportunities in this field. From currently conducting ghost tours for over 5 years at the oldest opera house in Southern Tennessee (Antionette Hall in Pulaski), hosting our own paranormal expo, to being on hit tv show Conjuring Kesha, with the pop singer Kesha, currently airing on Discovery + and the Travel Channel.
Which all this has led me to my latest venture, filming a new kind of paranormal tv show. With my concept and one of my long-time friends and former member of my paranormal team, Chris Martin of Creep Street Productions. We have formed an amazing cast of likeminded people with different abilities to include Lee Pigg who is a paramedic, Empath and fellow investigator to Mae Wilder who is a Bone Reader and Tarot Card reader. We filmed a pilot episode that is now airing on Prime and Paraflixx called “The Others’ Side”. Currently we are looking for investors or a Network to help us film a full season.
My love for the unknown will never disappear, as in my heart it formed from the love and contact that I received from my sister after her passing. I vowed to continue this journey to help others know that death is not the end and that our loved ones from the other side are still with us.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road to get here. It has been lots of hard work and dedication. Most people don’t know that we don’t get paid to investigate. On the contrary, we have to pay to get into locations, which can be upwards of thousands of dollars in some cases. Our equipment alone can run into thousands of dollars as well. It is not a cheap hobby by any means.
Some of the hardest struggles have been being an all-female paranormal team. We are in a heavily drive male field and we are constantly having to prove ourselves that we are not weak and meek scared girls. In fact we feel like we get more interaction with spirits because we have a softer, kinder energy. It’s hard enough to be looked down upon by society because most don’t believe in what we do. We have even been called witches. We not only have to provide evidence and proof, but we are also taunted by others in our field only because we are woman.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would say what I am most proud of is the fact that I have had so many opportunities to work with some great people in the paranormal field. I know personally I have overcome some really hard times with all the loss of loved ones. But I never gave up, thanks to Terry Mitchell who kept pushing me to follow my dreams, and a huge support system backing me. I am proud that I can connect with people on a different level. One that makes them feel understood and not crazy for believing that ghosts are real and to be able to share what I have learned with them.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I am so open to working with and collaborating with others in this field and have done so for years. It’s a small community and we all know of each other. So, I would just encourage other teams or people to reach out to me, start a conversation and let’s see where it goes. In this field there are so many that are out for themselves, let’s try and change that, to lift up and support one another. We all are in search of one goal, to get proof of the other side.
If you are interested in supporting my new paranormal show “The Others’ Side”, I encourage you to go out any watch the pilot episode on Prime and Paraflixx. We also have a Spotfund that you can donate to, contact me for details. But our ultimate goal would be to find a network to work with.
