Conversations with Sarai Shivana

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarai Shivana.

Hi Sarai, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Originally my family and I are from Trinidad, my parents and I moved to NYC when I was four and I grew up watching my parents survive and truly define the art of hustling. It was from there I learned what work ethic means and if I was going to do something, I would become the best at it.

I had a really successful career in the Fashion and retail management industry as well as the hospitality industry – this ran for over a decade and in the beginning, it was everything I ever dreamed off and envisioned what success was! I had a large paycheck a great closet and access to many different resources in New York City – living a life of glam and only concerned about my well-being… but through this experience and journey, I realized I really wasn’t living my truth and that I was meant for more.

I didn’t understand what life was, I didn’t know what it meant – as far as being a leader and someone of inspiration. I didn’t know what true wealth meant – I didn’t know what true health was – I didn’t understand the mindset of gratitude and abundance – I lived in the mindset of scarcity and I had to control everything so that I was sure of the short term outcome and I was stifling myself and stifling the universe and the opportunities that were out there for me.

As I tried to climb the corporate ladder and kept getting shut down, I started to realize this may not be the journey that I was meant to continue on. I became very angry frustrated I was broke all the time despite having a significant paycheck; I just was not a happy person. My weight fluctuated and my stress level increased immensely so it was kind of a vicious cycle that I kept living.

It was time to look inward and stop blaming outside factors that experience came over time and over countless rejections.

In 2018, my current business partners walked into one of the boutiques that I was managing and we quickly struck up a conversation. We connected and she introduced me to the company that I am now a leader in.

I am beyond grateful for saying YES to the opportunity and all the opportunities that have developed from my Direct Sales business.

We look back now and realized it was Gods divine timing and plan for us to connect in that moment. I always stress now to everyone start saying YES to opportunities, get educated and be open. Know enough to make an informed decision about things. Don’t automatically say No and dismiss what can ultimately help change your life.

My journey now really focuses on personal development and showing up for myself in a very moralistic healthy way!

I am so proud to be part of a company that pushes me to be the best version of me – I choose to get up every day and do the work on myself – personally developing my mind my spirits my body in order to lead a life of gratitude and abundance – this has helped me lead a successful team, consult for other direct sales companies and Help others feel and look beautiful. I can speak to many walks of life about our business opportunity and products.

If I had not gotten this opportunity, I highly doubt I would be where I am today.

One of my biggest takeaways from all of this is learning how to trust yourself implicitly, you know what’s best for you, don’t allow the outside noise to cloud it.

My business now consists of many leaders across the country that have taken ownership of our FREE model, they use amazing everyday products, share it and make a retail profit, commission and bonuses from their phones. They have helped create other leaders within their community and they’ve also really helped other small businesses add a new level of product line that really speaks to the community and those businesses have added more revenue

We do a lot a B2B and B2C business throughout the world and our company has a generous comp plan for us because of all that we do!! They also reward us with two free all expenses paid success trips every year! Another component of our company is our nourish the children foundation which provides meals for undernourished families throughout the world – I have been appointed an ambassador for the foundation which is something very near and dear to my heart.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has had its challenges which I can appreciate now.

Climbing the corp. ladder but never truly getting what I thought I deserved, this created a burnout in all areas of my life.

I had a limiting belief system and let much outside noise come into my thoughts.

For most of my life, I worked 2-3 jobs and never could make ends meet, my mindset was holding me back.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I currently have a business platform through Nuskin, I am able to help individuals feel and look their best using our innovative science-based products.

In turn, we help everyday individuals learn how to start their own online business with zero to no overhead.

I help train people on how to properly monetize their social media and expand their network through our team and product offerings.

I am most known for connecting great people to great opportunities. I’ve been characterized as a “natural networker”.

I am proud of always speaking my truth and looking at the big picture from a different viewpoint based on my upbringing, I have a very strong sense of street smarts and can see through a lot of different facades.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
A few risks in the past have been trying new jobs in different industries and understanding what works for me and what doesn’t.

I didn’t take the “traditional” route and finish college, I worked instead and built my career in fashion and hospitality. This was a huge risk as it was a disappointment to my parents who were sold on the traditional American dream and their daughter didn’t go for it.

I always did things different than the average person and would follow my way versus what I was expected to do.
