Conversations with Taffiney Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taffiney Williams

Hi Taffiney, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
“My journey began with a desire to share my own life story through writing. I published my first book, which opened a door for me to connect with others on their paths to healing. From there, I created live events focused on my experiences and lessons in relationships, and soon after, I began producing short films to bring awareness to the trauma I faced and the impact it had on my adult life. These projects resonated with many and naturally evolved into a calling to coach, counsel, and speak publicly. Over time, I expanded my work to include writing additional books, developing curriculum, and further immersing myself in the film industry. Today, I bring stories of resilience and overcoming to life in ways that continue to inspire audiences worldwide. My mission has become a global one: to impact lives by sharing stories of healing, growth, and transformation.”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
“It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many others, I encountered challenges along the way that tested my resilience. Personally, I went through a painful divorce and lost my father, both of which deeply affected me. I also faced health challenges and financial strain. In the early days, film production and authorship cost more than what it brings in, so I began picking up acting gigs, coaching others to tell their stories, and writing for hire to support myself.

These kinds of challenges are common for creatives. Financial stability is one of the biggest obstacles—many artists, writers, and filmmakers struggle to make ends meet, especially early in their careers. I really felt better when I read a report that shows the majority of creatives earn below the median income level in the U.S., and nearly 60% work a second job to support their art. The pressure nearly lead to burnout. But facing these challenges only strengthened my commitment to this journey and to the mission of sharing transformational stories that impact lives.”

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

“I’m an empowerment strategist, author, coach, and filmmaker, specializing in helping people overcome personal and relational challenges to build stronger, more fulfilling lives. Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
“I believe that growth often requires risk—stepping into the unknown to pursue something greater, even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed. For me, taking risks has been an essential part of my journey. One of the biggest risks I took was writing and publishing my first book. It meant sharing deeply personal stories that could have opened me up to judgment and vulnerability, but I knew it had the potential to resonate and help others.

Entering the film industry was another significant risk. It demanded a lot of upfront investment and long hours with no promise of financial return. I encountered financial setbacks because the early stages of filmmaking don’t always bring in immediate income, but I was committed to using film as a powerful medium for storytelling. Each of these risks, including stepping into acting roles to make ends meet, required me to go beyond my comfort zone and invest in my vision, often without clear guarantees. It is beginning to pay off with International Award winning projects, I am also a Best Selling Author and sought after Transformational Speaker.

Taking these risks has taught me resilience and the importance of believing in a mission larger than myself. I’ve learned that the biggest rewards often come from the boldest moves. In my case, the impact I’ve made in people’s lives makes every risk worthwhile.” My Immediate Obedience when God tells me to move, I move.
