Conversations with Terrikous Smith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terrikous Smith.

Hi Terrikous, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started taking pictures when Covid came. I seen places shut down and I always wanted a way to make my own money. My roommate at the time was a Videographer so watching him do his work motivated me to get a camera. I never knew how photography really worked, but thanks to YouTube University my work has come a long way.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When you are learning something new, it won’t always be smooth. When I started photography, I knew little to nothing. My biggest struggle was going into my shoot being confident. When your job is to please your customers you always want to make sure that you do a great job so confidence was a big thing for me. I also had to figure out the type of photography I like doing. When I figured out my niche is when my confidence shot through the roof!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a photographer and a teacher assistant. I specialize in candid photos and family shoots. I also love taking pictures of kids. I am proud of how far along I have come in just four small years. What sets me apart from others is everything is genuine. I take pride in my work so you will get my best every time.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I would say my brother(Terrandus Smith) played the biggest role in my success. My brother is my number one model. Whenever I need practice he stepped up and dressed up every time no questions asked. There are also local photographers in Jackson Tennessee who don’t mind helping when you ask!
