Today we’d like to introduce you to Trainer Rob.
Hi Trainer, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been a personal trainer for over 10 years, helping people improve their health, fitness, and confidence. For years, one of my goals was to eventually open a gym of my own and create a space that offered more than just workouts. Recently, that vision became reality when I partnered with a business partner who shared the same passion for fitness and community, and together we opened Zero Land in Nashville. My goal is to continue creating a positive environment where people can grow, stay accountable, and become the best version of themselves.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, I’ve faced challenges with funding, finding the right location, managing renovations, and balancing business responsibilities while continuing to serve my clients. Opening Zero Land came with plenty of unexpected obstacles, but those challenges taught me patience, problem-solving, and persistence. Every setback became part of the process, and seeing the gym open its doors made all the hard work worth it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a personal trainer and gym owner who specializes in accountability, discipline, and helping people achieve results they didn’t think were possible. I’m known as Mister Zero because if a client does an exercise incorrectly, stops when they aren’t supposed to, or fails to meet the standard, they go back to zero and start over. It’s not about punishment—it’s about teaching consistency, focus, and accountability.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just focus on workouts. I hold people accountable inside and outside of the gym and challenge them to become better in all areas of life. Through Zero Land, we’ve also created opportunities that go beyond fitness, including community service projects, supporting local events, and a travel team that allows members to experience fitness and fellowship in different cities.
What I’m most proud of is the culture we’ve built. People come for fitness, but they stay because they’re part of a community that pushes them to grow, support one another, and become the best version of themselves.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to stay strong, trust myself, and remain focused on the vision, even when things don’t go as planned. Along the journey, I’ve learned that not everyone will support you the way they say they will, especially when situations don’t benefit them or go their way. Because of that, I’ve become more observant and pay closer attention to people’s actions, energy, and consistency rather than just their words.
Most importantly, I’ve learned that if you truly believe in something, you have to be willing to carry it yourself. At the end of the day, nobody will believe in your vision more than you do, so you have to keep pushing forward regardless of who stays, who leaves, or who supports it. That’s been one of the biggest lessons in building my brand and now opening Zero Land.
