Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Davis.
Hi Whitney, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started discovering my humor at a pretty young age. I have two silly and hilarious parents in their own right, which helped with style, sarcasm, and dry humor in the household. I didn’t notice it until my classmates in middle school would laugh at my jokes/characters while waiting for school to start. I started doing skits online in 2015. I’ve always enjoyed writing jokes, and I didn’t have anyone to act them out, so I did! My material comes from my life experiences. I enjoy being transparent through comedy and sharing bits and pieces of my journey through the ability God grants me. In 2019 I received the opportunity to pair up with Zachary Pope to create a web series loosely based on my life called “The Whit Series.” In 2020 the company “Food Trucks and Chill” created a drive-through event showcasing the series, which the event sold out!
Since then, the Lords allowed my content to hit the algorithms of the “inter of nets”‘ haha! I begin recording Future Husband Prayers, Christian Flirting Skits, and bridging the gap for singles and hope for relationships. I also received the opportunity to work with Matthew Hudson! He is a Christian Comedian influencer, and we paired up to make Christian Couple Skits. Collaborating birthed a chance to showcase Christian comedy at the “Laugh because God is Good” (Matthews company) in ATL Feb 2022, in which the showcase sold out.!
Currently, I am finishing up my first co-written feature film with Joseph Ebanks titled “She’s Such a Lady.” Super excited about this experience and being able to show what we have been working on; I think it will be amazing. Lastly, I am finishing up Season Two for “The Whit Series.”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced?
I don’t think the road has been smooth, but I wouldn’t say it’s been the roughest either. I think some struggles I have experienced along the way have mostly been growing pains. Meaning getting out of my comfort zone to perform, being disciplined, being a good steward of my time, etc. I believe God navigates our path, but it’s up to us to have the right perspective and intention and keep our hearts in the best posture. It’s a process thing. I am also creating healthy balance and boundaries in the process. Creativity and business are two different ballparks, so I think the biggest struggle/challenge has been in the exact moments of personal growth.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in writing, acting, and Comedy. I am currently best known for my comedy skits online. I have a company named LaBelle Productions, in which I do videography, editing, and writing for companies. I edited the first Season of the Whit Series and also produced the introduction song and a few songs in the season. I am most proud of my company LaBelle Productions. My company has been able to team up with MassCTV and DigiFilms on the current projects I am working on. On my current projects, I can showcase my writing, acting, and editing abilities. What sets me apart from others is my personality. However, I am a hard worker. I enjoy putting the tone for environments that feel free, fun, and comfortable. I think those types of environments produce the best content.
We love surprises, fun facts, and incredible stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I am just a creative. I love to draw, make music and songs, and do hair. The Lord just said you gone be creative this lifetime lol
