Conversations with Yolanda Jenkins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yolanda Jenkins.

Hi Yolanda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
TNSTP American Kickball League was established in 2018 by myself (Yolanda Jenkins) and my friend Ayana Sample. We’re the first women’s Kickball League Owners. We wanted to bring a more competitive outlook to the sport of Kickball. In 2019, we started with only 6 coed teams and 5 women teams to compete nationwide.

In 2020, surprisingly during the pandemic, we were able to host 32 coed and 20 women competitive teams. Now, we’re proud to host more than 65 teams nationwide. Our season begins in February – October, with All-Star Weekend in mid-August. Our tournaments will consist of a qualifying event series starting with Open Invitation, Major & National Tournaments in key travel destinations, and ending with the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in Atlanta, GA.

In addition too; players, family, friends & fans have to luxury of watching live feature games and regular games on our very own TNSTP. TV Network Channel App on Roku and Amazon Firestick TVs.

In 2023, we’re proud to announce that we will be introducing Kickball on the collegiate level, both social and competitive. Along with hosting our first international tournament in Panama City, Panama.

In 2024, We will be launching our Professional Division to Include (8) cities that will showcase the best must-see TV talent kickball has to offer. This is the 1st time a true professional sports structure enters the kickball scene.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When being the first woman to own a competitive sports league that is dominated by men, it’s going to be some challenges. Also, introducing a new competitive format to the kickball community was different from the style they were used to, which we bought about to change. Choosing the right locations that would be appealing to the athletes liking and affordable travel vacation venues.

Surprisingly the pandemic is where our success blossomed. We were able to host 7 successful tournaments to full capacity with safety protocols in place. Several of our athletes have been seen featured on ESPN, Overtime, Sport center & Bleacher Report just to name a few. That shows that kickball is on the raise and being noticed at the highest level of competition.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

What sets us apart from others: Our different style of competitive rules, our customer service is top-notch, and our tournament destinations are out of this world. We are the only kickball league that has a worldwide tv network with our very own full broadcasting team and commentator. We offer the largest cash prize for all teams.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I’m a clown at heart, love to crack jokes. Love feeding the homeless and reading to kids in classes. I can’t cook lol.
