Daily Inspiration: Meet Alexander Bo Miller

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander Bo Miller.

Alexander Bo, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in Lawrence, Kansas in 2000. My parents started me in sports and piano class very early on, as well as learning how to run a farm/ranch and ride horses and 4 wheelers. Throughout my life many things have came and gone, but the few that have always stuck around is my love for creating and enjoying music, competing in sports and other challenging activities, and learning and building things. I moved to Nashville in 2018 where I was on the track and field team at Belmont University. I graduated with a degree in Music and Entertainment Business with a Legal Emphasis and a degree in Business Administration. I had many incredible professors there and wound up on the Dean’s List or honor roll for most it my semesters there, all thanks to God! I spent any free time outside of school and practice making music with my friends and putting on shows and events in town. I am so fortunate to have found myself in many rooms that I couldn’t have ever imagined if it weren’t for the village of incredible mentors and friends whom we all work so well together. I served tables and helped manage a sports bar in my neighborhood after college and soon found myself touring 6-8 months out of the year as a tour/production/merch manager. I have been apart of 8 tours in 2 years, helping put on over 200 shows. Nowadays when I am not touring I am working at a management company in town assisting the head of the office here. And outside of that you can find me making music, DJing, running, riding my bike, fishing, hunting, and designing clothes,

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been smooth for very short periods of time, and when it is boy is it nice. But most of the time it feels like a roller coaster. Super high exciting times quickly followed by gut wrenching anxiousness and sometimes near total panic hahah… but you make it out alive, and you learn something each show. I realized these past two years as long as you are working in Good Faith, it is pretty hard to do wrong. And that has offered a blanket of peace in my mind that allows me to push onward knowing that we’re gonna be okay. Some days though it is cold and helpless, but it’s important to look ahead to the light at the end of the tunnel and my personal favorite is to imagine myself on a beach, fishing, or riding my bike.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Until I have my own company and clients, I hope to continue to find work in and around Nashville, TN. When finding new opportunity and managing current roles, it is always important to do the small things well and communicate strongly and be brave enough to be yourself. Understand that everyone is doing their best most of the time so give people grace. Consider that everyone is thinking about themselves and their problems so don’t worry too much about what others are thinking about you. And stand tall and smile more. Those are things that I hope I do well most of the time because those are often things can be easy to forgot to do; and they can really help you be more memorable. At the end of the day in this business you need to stand out, and in order to do so you have to practice your craft and professionalism each and every day so that it can become effortless. The people who don’t will find themselves on a merry-go-round and likely struggle with elevating into higher positions. Nobody is going to call you and offer you more money and a promotion early on, so look them in the eye after you’ve proven to them that you are capable and able to keep moving the needle forward and raising the bar. I would say I am most proud of myself when 40-70% of the time I can achieve these things I just spoke about; because that is when I feel that I am living the fullest. I am thankful to know so many different people who can make these practices look easy and do it with their own flare. These are the people whom you should seek out and surround yourself with.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think most of the larger decisions I have made could be considered risky, and I think I have came to realize that these missions and projects that make you nervous or fearful, are most of the time exactly what you should do next. I find myself struggling to understand people who are unwilling to proverbially jump off the high-dive; and I say that as I am sorta scared of heights, but in this case you must make the decision that when presented with your next opportunity you have no choice but to accept and dominate the challenge and the risk that comes with it. We have it pretty easy and comfortable in the year 2026. Imagine if you were born into a warring nation 200 years ago and you had to go and fight and find each meal and constantly fight off predators and enemies. 99% of the time you don’t have to worry about any of those things, so lace up your shoes, put on your favorite outfit, turn the music up on your favorite playlist and push onward at a speed you never imagined you could. Don’t be afraid to get a hole in your pants or to get your shoes muddy because the best stories come from times when you got back and looked at yourself in the mirror, or to your friend to your right and you say to yourself “How in the ****** did I/we just do that?!” But you did, and you’ll do it again even better the next time with a fraction more experience and you’ll lay your head on your pillow and smile and think to yourself, “Gosh, I am so glad I did that. Let’s do it again!” God Bless and Peace and Love!
