Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Lyons.
Hi Alexandra, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi!! I am so honored to have been chosen to interview with y’all. I was born in Nashville – middle Tennessee raised. I spent a little time in Knoxville, but haven’t ventured off too far. Honestly, I love Tennessee. It’s my home, and I am proud to be able to build and raise a family here also.
Buuuut being said that, I have always known I was meant for something BIG. The passion that runs through my blood wouldn’t allow otherwise. Public speaking was never a fear of mine. “Shy” would probably not ever be used as a characteristic to describe me. Ever since I started supplying for my own, I’d set myself a goal budget. Almost like another bill – to buy shoes or new clothes or decorate my apartment.
So here is where a shopping habit turns into a dream job:
When I was pregnant with my daughter, something in me knew I no longer wanted to pursue nursing. I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I knew I couldn’t miss out on a single moment of my daughter growing up. Having her at a young age was hard. I felt guilty that I was not yet fully established. But she lit a fire inside me to do better. Becoming an “influencer” was almost an accident. It honestly feels like a dream sometimes. It all started with sharing our journey of becoming a little family – the memories and the messy. I believe that God chose me for this. He gave me a big, bold voice. And it is my job to use it. To share the good, the bad, and the ugly.
There is so much more behind the pretty photos of being a public figure. Yes, I love to share all things fashion, lifestyle, + motherhood. But my overall goal is to make a positive impact on anyone that will allow me to. I want to encourage everyone to step out of their comfort zones and have the courage to pursue their wildest dreams. My dream is to make my mark on the world.
It is quite obvious that I adore my little, growing family and it means so much to us that so many of y’all do as well.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh absolutely not! Is anything ever? At times, I struggle with feeling confident.
There is always pressure to appear relevant. Having to show up and show out when you’re not feeling your hottest. It is so much more than just pretty photos. I promise – so so much more. One thing I’ve had to work very hard on is speaking into myself about how I would speak to my daughter. I would never want her to think of herself as not pretty enough or irrelevant or not fun.
So how could I? I’ve had to cheer for myself how I cheer for others. It is so easy to fall into what the media wants you to be and to like. Staying true to yourself is extremely vital in this world. Showing my daughters that it is important to be YOU, and to never give up on yourself, is what keeps me going.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So, my most proud moments are being a mom, and I think that’s quite obvious. As a content creator, the goal is to constantly appeal to your audience, but I believe in sharing the raw and real. If our hair is messy – our hair is messy. If our house is a mess – our house is a mess.
I like to relate to my following, not create an unattainable lifestyle. I share achievable goals and affordable trends. I strive to be me. Not what somebody else wants me to be. I love to encourage others to do the same.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Resilience. 100%. With success comes failure. With success comes negative critiques.
I have always been known to sprinkle a little glitter on ugly situations. Overcoming hardships is a specialty for my family and myself. I have the most amazing set of hardworking, strong women to look up to. In no way have they had the easy way through life, but they sure created a life for themselves and paved a way for me, as well.
The refusal to give up – no matter how ugly circumstances get.
