Audience of One Production
We are thankful to each of you for your love and support of this company. It is our honor and pleasure to bring Broadway-level productions to the stage at Capitol Theatre.

Our Beginnings:
Audience of One Productions began with the vision of having Broadway-quality theatre available in Wilson County. Angie Dee, founder and director, walked into Capitol Theatre and envisioned talented young actors performing Broadway shows on this remarkable stage. With a dream and the help of the Holy Spirit, Angie began to take flight with launching Audience of One’s first production 2015 Into the Woods followed by sold-out productions of Beauty and the Beast and A Christmas Carol Musical 2016.

Our Growth:
The summer of 2017 was a huge success with our first Jr. Show: Peter Pan Jr. Broadway version followed by the outstanding ten show run of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers! Our busy 2018 season of shows included Singin’ in the Rain, Little Women, Seussical Jr, West Side Story, and Mary Poppins. This incredible troupe continued to dazzle audiences in 2019 with She Loves Me, Newsies, Shrek Jr., A Christmas Carol Musical, 2020: You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Guys and Dolls, Willy Wonka Jr., Sound of Music. Our anticipated 2021 season will include: Grease, Beauty and the Beast Jr. and Matilda.

Our Calling:
Audience of One Productions is a community group of actors collaborating in the arts to express one heart to do all things unto Him.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our company has been blessed with the absolute best audience/community support, incredible artists and is blessed to call Capitol Theatre our home. Our biggest challenge has been our budget. Musical Theatre, done at this professional level, requires a large budget. We are just beginning to find our footing as a Non-Profit 501C3 and recognized in the community as one of the top Educational Theatre Programs in Middle Tennessee.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As the Founder of Audience of One Productions and Producer/ Director of Grease, I find myself in a place of extreme gratitude for the privilege of being in the arts.

I have been blessed with a very inclusive life. I studied Theatre in college for a couple of years but ultimately felt lead to work on bodies so I changed my degree to Exercise Science. After college, I specialized in Neuromuscular Therapy, Clinical Sports Massage and Cranial Decompression at The Academy of Somatic Arts.

Everything in my life has equipped me in seeing life, the human heart and others through a beautiful lens. The enormous privilege of working on people in their most dire needs has helped my artistry that much more. My experience both on stage and behind the creative desk has spoken into my creative abilities. I am an acting teacher, writer and this art is my ministry. Helping my students see themselves through the eyes of Christ is my calling.

I believe that is why Audience of One is special… He is our focus.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
At the end of the day, success is how many hearts were touched and changed for good. I believe that the theatre arts play a significant role in creating inspiration, being present and touching everyone involved.
