Daily Inspiration: Meet Anna Scott

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Scott.

Hi Anna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.

I’m an educator turned licensed professional therapist, crisis management specialist, creative muse, and certified intuitive coach. In essence, I am someone who is designed to do things differently, connect deeply to others, lead with love and humor, and help my clients revive the highest level of self-connection from a soul-level.

In the last year I am proud to say that I officially opened the doors to my holistic private practice in the beautiful town of Old Saybrook, CT. I provide virtual, in-person, or on-site intuitive psychotherapy and therapeutic performance coaching. I also offer leadership team-building services for corporations or places of education armed with an incredible repertoire of personality/life purpose assessment profiling systems.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

The road wasn’t less traveled, it was never traveled. However, some people are built to go first, and I have come to realize I am one of those people. As a former school counselor and higher education/career consultant, I know all too well that we grow up feeling very limited, caged, and pressured to conform or follow a certain road to success.

Society urges us to do it one way, but we are all designed differently and often face severe imposter syndrome and roadblocks when we begin to truly choose ourselves. It took a great deal of my own internal transformation and high-quality mentorship, but I am proud to say that I have turned a career into purpose and now to honor who I am on a soul level through my work. I now get to give people the hope that they can do the same.

As I mentioned, I created a holistic mental health private practice meets consulting business that is both rooted in tradition and in holistic methodology. To say I didn’t receive some flack from family/friends or face systemic barriers would be laughable. But I kept going. And I have my incredible husband to thank for never giving up on my or my ‘crazy’ dream.

I have always considered myself to be an excellent combo platter of Wendy Rhoades, Olivia Pope, David Rose, Brene Brown, and the entire cast of Bridesmaids. And now, I get to show up to work everyday shining in whatever aspect of myself the day calls for. Unwavering authenticity, baby.

I pride myself on teaching my clients from a place of deep knowing and experience of what they too are facing. I believe life has been my greatest teacher and will continue to be.

Face your shadow, find your sunshine.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a mom, wife, loyal friend, and fierce advocate of positive change for the next generation: our kids. I do things differently but always from a place of love, anticipation, appropriate humor, and cutting edge psychological tools.

In my seemingly nonexistent free time, I lobby the hell out of the integration of psychedelic-assisted therapy in CT and partner with the amazingly fearless, brilliant, and inspirational powerhouses at Reason for Hope.

As of recently, I also have a strong pull toward connecting very necessary dots to both the education and mental health systems. In order to create equitable teaching, learning, and self-love and career guidance for all stakeholders we need to reimagine a thing or two. And so, I also spend a great deal of time collaborating with mental health professionals, educators, and policy makers to try to co-create a safer, more cohesive environment for our children.

And on the business front, I continue to gravitate to (and seem to attract) artists of any medium, corporation executives, pioneers, trauma survivors, musicians, and anyone who yearns to create lasting impact whilst coloring outside the lines.

What sets me apart from others and what I am most proud of is one and the same. I am in total alignment with my barrier-breaking, fun-loving, deeply intuitive self.  The whole point of life (as I see it) is to connect to your true self, show up exactly as you remember yourself to be, find (or create) a job that is a natural extension of your greatest gifting, and have fun.

There is no one on earth exactly like me (as there is no one on earth exactly like you, reader). And when a person embodies their highest self in connection with their public work true magic can happen.

How do you define success?

Greeting everyone you meet and everywhere you go with unconditional love, being open to creative in-integrity risks, not taking yourself too seriously, amplifying joy through your work, and paying the prosperity  generated forward when possible.

Oh, and most importantly, enjoying the absolute sh*t out of life.
