Daily Inspiration: Meet Ashley and Ben Buttrey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley and Ben Buttrey. 

Hi Ashley and Ben, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
My husband and I are busy raising a 4-year-old and a 4-month-old. Being a stay-at-home Mom I am always looking for something fun to do with the kiddos. Living in White Bluff, TN, there aren’t many options for little ones to do. Over the last couple of years, I have wanted to do something that not only brought me great joy but the community as well. One night we were tossing around the idea of opening an indoor play facility and later that week we happened to come across a space that was for rent. The rest is history 🙂 

Opening The Green Monkey has been such a blessing. It’s a place that not only I can bring my kids but other children can come have fun. We have met so many wonderful families, we have been welcomed into the community with open arms. It is such a wonderful feeling, doing something not only you love but others love as well. 

I am truly blessed, running a business with my best friend/husband, letting our kids be part of it every step of the way, and giving something to the community that is much needed. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
The Green Monkey is a facility where kids can come play and create. We also host birthday parties, evening events for parents and children, and in the near future will be hosting events just for Moms. I wanted to create a space for children but also for those moms that want to get out of the house and mingle with other Moms. 

In the past, I have worked in daycare facilities and ran my own daycare. I also love to organize and plan events. With daycare background and passion for planning, I combined them and now have The Green Monkey 🙂 

What makes our place unique?
We love to include the kids on a personal level. We allow children to put their handprint on the wall and we love when kids create pictures and hang them in our window

Any big plans?
Our long-term goal is to have multiple locations
