Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlyn Grayce.
Hi Ashlyn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, we would like to share some of your backstories with our readers.
Ashlyn Grayce was born and raised in a musical family in Nashville. With both parents in the music business and a love for singing/songwriting, creativity came naturally. Early on, her charismatic charm landed Ashlyn print ads for companies including Cracker Barrel, Arista Records, and Readers Digest. By the time she was a teenager, Grayce had already made a name for herself as a songwriter and performer and she has since enjoyed sharing the stage with top-named artists, performed on prestigious festival stages, and frequents Music City’s top venues including The Bluebird Café, The Hard Rock Café, Tin Roof, Puckett’s and The Listening Room.
As a writer, Grayce already has impressive credits to her name with a growing catalog spanning multiple genres, and a list of cuts by other artists. She regularly collaborates with Nashville’s top songwriters. Grayce has also showcased her on-camera talents serving as co-host for episodes of TBN’s Juce TV internationally syndicated JUCE Live, JUCE Live After Party, and filming social media updates for their TV show Hot off the Press. She has also appeared multiple times on WSMV’s Today in Nashville and NASH FM’s Ty Bentli Show/Ten Minute Tune, and was recently a guest on the television music series Jimmy Bowen & Friends, reaching 200 million homes via The Family Channel, Heartland TV, etc.
In 2018, Grayce released her first EP, Somethin’ ‘Bout a Song, which debuted at #4 on iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart and Bestseller list. Grayce graduated from Lipscomb University Cum Laude with a B.A. Degree in Strategic Communication and in 2019, she returned to her alma mater and headlined a football-related event where American music icon, Sheryl Crow was in the audience. Much to her surprise, Crow was waiting on Grayce backstage following her show to congratulate her and asked if they could get a picture together so that she could post it about her on her socials, which she did.
Grayce recently released her current single “Letter From Heaven,” co-written with Grammy Award-winning songwriter, Steve Dean and produced by Industry Veteran, Brent Rader. She has a lot of exciting things in store for 2022 including new shows to be announced soon and new music! Visit www.ashlyngrayce.com for more info!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. So many people come to Nashville to pursue music so there is competition everywhere. It is challenging at times not to compare yourself to other artists and what all they are doing, but it is important to stay focused and remember that there is only one “you.” The music you make as an individual is unique and is a gift. It is special and important as it has the ability to touch others and make a difference in someone else’s life.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a singer/songwriter. Music is my passion. I love to write and perform. I also work at Lipscomb University in the College of Entertainment and Arts. My “day job” at Lipscomb also enables me to work in a creative environment where music is at the center of it.
I love all things creative and also have a big heart for kids. I have been a nanny in the past and continue to teach Sunday School at my church.
Of all of my work accomplishments to date, I would have to say I am most proud of my EP Somethin’ ‘Bout A Song, and its debut at number 4 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart alongside some of my all-time favorite artists!
What’s next?
I have written so many songs that I can’t wait to share with everyone! I plan to get back into the studio to record again very soon! I am also super-excited that opportunities for live shows have opened back up and am proud to say I have just booked more – The National Cornbread Festival in South Pittsburg, TN on April 24th, and The Gatlinburg Songwriters Festival in August!
