Today we’d like to introduce you to Bailey Griggs.
Hi Bailey, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always enjoyed singing. Eventually, started taking voice lessons and started doing a lot of musical theatre. My mother submitted me to sing at the Apollo Theater in NYC never dreaming that we would actually hear back from them. They notified me that I was cast for the upcoming season as a child star and I went on to perform there several times. I met my LA producer Andrew Lane and started traveling to LA working on music. During the pandemic, I found my way to Nashville and have been working with my producer Kent Wells in Nashville ever since then. I’ve been working with writers in the Nashville area along with my NC producer David Rhyne. He and I actually have several songs that we’ve co-written together. I’ve also had the opportunity to film on a couple tv series over the last year. Swagger is now streaming on Apple TV and I had the honor of playing the role of Marianne. I’m recently filming on an upcoming HBO tv series that I can’t talk too much about but I’ve enjoyed that opportunity as well.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I’ve actually been pretty lucky. I’ve always said that it takes talent, a lot of hard work, and definitely luck to become successful in the entertainment industry. I’ve worked really hard over the last few years and I’m hoping that eventually, it will pay off. I’ve been lucky enough to work with incredible people and it seems that people get placed on my journey with me as if it’s just meant to be. I try to keep some things private so I will say that I’ve had incredible opportunities to meet with some pretty amazing industry people that I plan to work towards in the near future.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Since my transition to Nashville, I’ve settled into who I am as an artist. I’m not your typical Nashville/country artist. I love pop music but being from the south my roots are definitely country so with my new music I’ve tried to take a touch of pop and mix that with my country roots and the songs that are finished and ready to release will reflect who I truly am as an artist.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Going to the beach!!! My grandmother has a beach house at Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach SC and since I was a baby, I’ve been making those trips several times a year. It’s a beautiful place, lots of people from all over the country vacation there. We love riding on the golf cart and cruising the strip at night and making new memories every time we go.
