Daily Inspiration: Meet Brandon Brindley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Brindley.

Hi Brandon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
A lot has transpired that got me here today. Most importantly, I got a guitar when I was about 15 years old and its been the main constant throughout my whole life.

I was a wrestler growing up and went to college to pursue that. After graduating from college, I was presented with a great opportunity. One of my college teammates lived and worked in Nashville, and he was able to get me a job here. So I loaded up the truck as fast as possible and didn’t look back. That’s almost been 10 years ago now.

Its led to many great things in my life. Ive met some of my best friends here in this town. My wife Amelia is from Nashville also and we have a 3 year old daughter, Vera.

I owe everything I have to that guitar and to wrestling. Without those two things, I probably would have never ended up in Nashville.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t think I’ve ever traveled on a smooth road, and if I did, it was a dream.

For several years after moving to town, things were not easy. Only recently have things seemed to fit into place for me. There are a lot of struggles that come along with this life. I was living paycheck to paycheck for several years, but I’m just lucky I had a paycheck.

Being a songwriter/musician there is a lot of pressure to party and generally be up to no good, least with the crew I run with. Luckily most of us made it out to the other side relatively unscathed and got our heads mostly screwed on right these days.

However, we did lose a lot of friends from various things through the years and thats been a major struggle that we are still learning how to carry on from.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Where do we even start here? In a perfect world, I consider myself an artist and a songwriter, though as we all know, it’s hard to make a living doing that without singing 8 hours a day on Broadway. Being a songwriter is definitely my main passion and it keeps me going. I would still write songs if I was the last person on earth. Its who I am and its how my brain processes the world.

However, I can just about do anything if the money is right. Currently I bartend downtown and I’m also in the process of starting my own mobile mechanic business. If you need your car fixed, give me a ring! Ive decided this is the year I branch out on my own and be my own boss. I’m starting this business to help out songwriters like myself and just people in general that want someone honest helping them that also does a good job, and doesnt try to charge them an arm and a leg.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
This year I will be releasing my 4th album “Running Out Of Options.”
I just put out the title track in May, you can find it anywhere you listen to music. Be on the lookout for the next single “Bedford County Rain” here soon!

Ive also been lucky enough to go on two successful tour to Ireland and the UK for music. Myself and fellow songwriter Randy Ross set it all up and we had an absolute ball both times. Cant wait to go back!

I’m in a group called The Allnighters, we play every Saturday at Bobby’s Idle Hour (thanks Josh) Myself, Jim Martin, Randy Ross, and Dylan Cronk make up The Allnighters. Come out if you want to hear some good original music.
