Today, we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Ezell.
Hi Brittney, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Building on over 20 years in athletics leadership as a Division I women’s basketball coach, I’ve transitioned my experience to public speaking and executive leadership, helping companies and teams maximize their success and motivation. Whether speaking at large conferences or consulting with coaches, I build personal connections that guide them in leadership development and team building.
Because I still have a deep love of basketball and developing others around me, I also offer private coaching for individuals and small groups, provide consulting for high school and collegiate-level coaches, and am a public speaker on leadership, team building, and motivation.
Today, as CEO/Team Leader of Keller Williams – Johnson City Market, leading the #1-ranked brokerage in production, units, sales volume, and agent count in Northeast Tennessee/Southwest Virginia. I simultaneously served as Director of the Private Housing Network within KW Sports & Entertainment and as EVP of Elite Entertainment Experiences (E3), where I combine my athletic connections and desire to assist by creating once-in-a-lifetime experiences and building strong relationships and partnerships.
My current roles are perfect for me because I’m happiest when everyone else around me is doing great. I love to help others do well, and this is directly connected to one of the company’s core values – success and results through people. With a track record of developing talent and a deep understanding of events, client privacy, and management strategies, I’ve developed a reputation as someone who invests greatly in people, communicates at a high level, and can instantaneously connect with anyone.
I also earned a doctorate in global sports leadership from East Tennessee State University and served as an adjunct professor in leadership. I earned my bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Alabama, where I was also a two-sport collegiate athlete and began my coaching career. My Master’s degree was earned in Higher Education Administration from the University of Nebraska.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
That is a great question and an easy answer. No, it hasn’t been a smooth road, and I love that about my journey. We are only strengthened after a struggle, so I can now speak to others from my scars, not my wounds. Everyone battles difficulties.
I’m not exempt from that. I fought self-doubt and leaned into imposter syndrome. I fought fatigue, burnout, and loss of passion at times, too. I like failing forward and failing fast. It helps me get to “yes” once I have endured enough “no.” No represents a new opportunity in life.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As the CEO/Team Leader at KW Johnson City, I lead a dynamic and successful team, driving excellence and innovation in the real estate market. As Director of the Private Housing Network within KW Sports & Entertainment, my role allows me to educate and empower agents to effectively engage with high-level sports and entertainment professionals, creating unparalleled housing and education solutions tailored to their unique needs.
In my position as EVP of Elite Entertainment Experiences, I merge my passion for sports and leadership to craft unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, fostering strong partnerships and enhancing client engagement. This role complements my extensive experience as a national keynote speaker, where I inspire and motivate audiences across the country, sharing insights on leadership, teamwork, and achieving peak performance.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I am deeply committed to giving back to the community. Serving on the Board of the state of Tennessee’s Alzheimer’s Association and Success Beyond Gameday, I contribute to impactful initiatives that support critical causes and empower individuals to thrive beyond their athletic careers.
Through all these roles, I am dedicated to assisting, coaching, and empowering others, leveraging my diverse expertise and passion for leadership to make a positive impact on those I work with and the broader community.
