Daily Inspiration: Meet Bryce Owens (Bo3)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryce Owens (Bo3).

Hi Bryce, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have been involved with music almost all my life, from dancing in school plays, to being in the band, composing, singing, etc. It wasn’t until I attended the University of Memphis where I took music more seriously and became a music artist.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been smooth. Definitely a lot of ups and downs. I remember at one point in time, I lost my love for music. I did not want anything to do with music my senior year of high school. I had a traumatic experience which caused me to spiral. I started questioning what I wanted to do with life. I was looking for purpose and stability. Once I experienced life without music, life became tasteless and nothing really made sense to me. I didn’t feel balanced. Towards the middle of my freshman year in college, my sister and I were going through my personal notes about how I been feeling and where I was mentally. My sister suggested that I make them into songs and I become the music instrument. She showed me despite what happened to me, music never really left. It was just in a different font. Then I realized music is everything for me. Music gives me a purpose, stability and balance.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a music artist from Jackson,Tennessee. I make music that is based on how I feel, what’s relevant in my life, and what I want to hear. I can read and write music, play instruments, mix and master songs and write songs for people. One thing that I am most proud of when it comes to my work is not giving up. I have been working non-stop musically for about 4-5 years now and still kicking. My latest music piece is an album called, “Fortitude Of A Cicada”. Please go check that out!

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Ironically, listening to music helps me do my best work. I listen to all kinds of music. I listen to music with vocals, instrumentals, and just vocals no music. I take inspiration from what I hear and I mix it into my music. I also, read books to assist with my work. My latest reads are “The Fifth Agreement” by Don Miguel Ruiz and “Scientific Healing Affirmations” by Paramahansa Yogananda. Reading gives me different perspectives on how to approach my songs.
